I would leave matchmaking as it is. You have no chance fighting a premade when in a pug but that's something you have to get over it and as Genisaurus says you should fight to the end no matter what happens.

Good to hear you are trying to balance scenarios somehow though but to be honest I don't see a solution here. In WoW they did the following: matching premades with premades. Walkaround: full pre made queues solo and joins the same match anyways.

Maybe matching people by their archetype would be a good idea but what with healers playing as dps and so on?
True but on live when teams were to unbalanced the SC shut down. Balance changes are hard to make I was in a SC last night where it was 7 v 10 and ofcourse we lost but we kept fighting.

There's a difference between deciding to not fight in a scenario due to your set-up/facing a premade, and leeching in a scenario from the start. The former can be understood and probably will not be penalised; the latter, however, should be punishable. I've had people ask me to whom 'sc leechers' should be reported if they purposely stay AFK in scenario after scenario, while I'm not even sure if it's a bannable offense.

In this case, I'd also suggest changing the queuer so that only 6 man groups will be queued against another 6 man group. Otherwise we will still see premade vs pugs.

Okay, real situation - pattern full premade, you have 1 healer max, it is Temple/Tor Anrock, where only kill rule. All team blow in a matter of seconds, what point to leave the rest zone? Just to die? It is not an rvr where I can lock BOs or just gank, it is not a scenario where I can lock BOs again and to farm some emblems..

On live when you face total supremacy of your enemies and cant stay in rest zone, you just stayed dead and had no d/c timer.

I never thought i would say this but... i agree.

After 2-3 nights with the problem i described (only facing premades when i was solo, and only facing pugs when i was in a premade) i gotta say this would be nice.

Genisaurus wrote: As a side note, the matchmaking system is something entirely under our control, and can be changed. The trade-off being that a more "considerate" matchmaking algorithm often fails when there just aren't enough people queued. One idea we've been playing with internally are scenarios you can only queue for as a group, like a 6v6 EC, to remove some premades from the larger queues filled with PUGs. We can also make the system require X of each archetype before it will build the SC instance. Just some ideas we'll be testing in the future, and as usual, no promises.
I think a Group only SC for EC is a good idea, I would also like to see matchmaking so PUGs fight PUGs and premades fight premades. That way players have a choice, Quality or QUANTITY, you want alot of fast popping SCs where your the players are random? Pug! Want to stack your group to hardcore fights, Run a premade. I personally don't have that much fun rolling pugs with a premade, and it's just the hope that we fight a worthy foe. For a lot of new comers, fighting premades in SCs is a disheartening experience, especially if you are coming from the PUG lands of tier 1 or 2

It would have to be on a timer, to prevent ungodly queue times, and would probably only search for an opposing 6-man for a short while before looking for a 5-man, etc. Otherwise a 6-man could be left stranded, but as soon as they drop a person they go back into regular queue mode. Alternatively, people could abuse the system by only 5-manning to get slotted against PUGs and have a better chance of winning.

FYI, The matchmaking system already slots groups first. If you're in a group (even of just 2 people), you get priority placement, and the gaps are filled with solo queuers.

Since I see several premades not leaving the spawn I think not allowing premade vs pug will lead to no premade vs premade sc at all.
The weaker premades will simply only play with 5 men or will not queue to not get rekt.

That's why you throw in a 6v6 only SC like EC which would be the fastest way to get Emblems. You want to chicken out and only run a 5 man well, you aren't going to get the emblems as fast! I dunno, killing pugs gets old really fast, on the flip side if everyone runs 5 man, said wimpy players will just get REKT by 5 mans and not queue at all...
