I am all for this as we will be opening the balance section with t4 coming and I personally would like to be able to have support behind my reasoning for removing peoples privileges. It can be used as a reference point in future bans as people who are banned for the same offense can be shown that they did something that is publicly listed as bannable

It doesnt sound unreasonable, I mean if you are online when the person gets banned you already get this info. The downside is it will take time to setup, and its really up to the gms, i'm sure they have a lot to do as is.

Besides, and im not trying to complain here, but a lot of the bans are like 30 min temp ones for using the wrong channel or talking back to a gm, so it would be flooded with . The big ones, like when guild leaders get banned and their entire guild spends a day asking about it in /3 and on the forums, it would be nice to see that publicly so people stop asking about it.

The fact that me and valnak haven't been banned/suspended says a whole lot. You gotta be doing some retarded **** to get banned. Even when the /vg/ guild was alive Koopa was the only one who got banned out of that bunch.

Public shaming as an excuse is dumb, anytime a regular player on this server gets banned literally everyone who would want to know about it does. The problem is it becomes very easy for that story of why to get morphed over time and turn into "da GMs are Nazis". Being able to just look up the ban on some kind of registry w/ all relevant proof (screenshots/chat logs/videos etc...) would instantly dispel that.

And if there was GM's power abusing this puts a very tight leash on them.

Hadn't even thought about that. Another good point.

While all GM actions are logged on the server, we don't make forum reports for warnings or temp bans of less than 1 day.

I don't see this happening. If they do it on RoR, we can take action. If they do it elsewhere... well, how is it any different to what already happens, apart from that the staff get to defend themselves?

For some reason, whenever there's a patch, people think that normal channel rules are suspended and that they are amazing comedians, so Advice gets flooded with "t4 confirmed."

Imagine how old this gets when it happens

every

single

patch.

It might not even have been me who applied the action in question (I don't recall exiling anyone over "t4 confirmed") but if people do "t4 confirmed" in the advice chat I do block them from it.

General chat. No hard feelings but that was just unjustified
