Ambalynn wrote:Joies comment about tying rewards to quests is a good one.

1. kill quest (orvr and scs)
2. capture bo quest
3. take keep quest.

the rewards could be +/- to be appropriate to the effort.

To add onto the thought:
- remove INF and medallions as global rewards. tie them to quests only.
- move INF rewards to a general list. not tied to pairing anymore. from RR 0 to RR 11 the player needs to gain 10k INF. that's about 1K per RR rank. tier the quests to make this possible.
- grant bonus RR and XP for kills counting toward quest complete.
- change Tiers to look at RR, not CR. locking out at the chart below:
Tier 1. RR11
Tier 2. RR22
Tier 3. RR33 (when it's live).
Tier 4. RR999

So a Tier 1 player gets Tier 1 quests for kill, bo. the BO quest becomes useless once they hit RR11. the kill quests persist across Tiers.

This allows players to continue to collect medallions in T2 for T1 gear they may not of gotten. and on down the road.

remove the global lock rewards completely. tie them to quests exclusively. keep the one pairing open at a time to funnel the playerbase.
Not sure if it's possible to add INF to quests, but I like the idea. If that were the case, adding Chapter INF to PvE camps would be nice as well. Giving RvR quests to BO/Keep guards would also require regularly capturing them to cash in.

I do think that Kill Quests for Medals is a good way, you gotta fight for that.
Not sure how to promote Keep taking and defense though...

Yes you need to fight to lock but atm there is no slution whit X realmer problem and when you def whit 5-10 peeps against 3 wb order for exemple you have a chance to get medaillons whit this quest rewards.

what about to give medaillons rewards when you def your keep ? When the door is close you win exp / rp / and 3 medaillons why not ?

I think that is actually very good. Would it be possible to add it on top of the 2k xp / 400 renown?

An idea just crossed my mind that I have yet to read about in the forums so I thought I would toss it out there. What if all rvr gear, both weapons and armor, cost both emblems and medallions? This would mean that to achieve any piece a player would have to be active in orvr and scs.
I think this would keep players involved in both aspects of the game more. However, I think the ratio of emblems vs medallions should reflect the typical amount of time needed to require them. For example, when scs are popping, I can get a few emblems fairly quickly - in that same amount of time how many medallions could I have won?

Just a thought

The reason RvR and Scenarios have separate reward systems is because they are very different game systems. Scenarios are far more reliable to be be evenly matched and to provide rewards. Tying RvR rewards (which involves, risk, planning, and imbalance) into the Scenario system means that people would take that path of least resistance to grind them.

Of course they are different game systems - but its rewards split the game into play this field for your armor, and play this field for your weapons. I have just found it polarizes player activity based on what they are grinding for atm. I always think its funny to hear people yell about the campers in the WC - well, they are doing scs for weapons. Should the requirements for gear be mixed, then every player needs to be involved in the entire game.

Again, its just a thought. Im sure there are many reasons its a bad idea.

Unified currency. Play rvr to get sc weapons. Do what you like. /thread

Unified currency seems to be a good solution.
