Against rDPS, mDPS without gape closer can increase their dodge/disrupt by putting some point in Deft Defender. Quick Escape can also be a solution.
Of course, potions help the time to get closer.

Re: The rationale of inevitable DEATH - vs a Shaman.
Stop soloing in a game not designed for soloing, and if you do wish to solo then accept that there are some very lop-sided match-ups, especially playing in an off-spec where one of the factors that balances it against pure mDPS classes is the lack of access to some of those tools like sprints and CC-removal tools. The fact that each healer has a class of DoT that they are unable to cleanse should be a hint that things are more balanced around group play.
And good solo Shamans make the lives of solo pure MDPS a misery as well.

Ive once died from 4times reaplied pandemonium from magus. Dots ae funny thing here but not only shammies can do them. Solution is get heal or kill it fast. But if you met hybrid shammie u basically dead, same works for am. Or u can play class that have selfheal, sustaine, and thats not only healers. Btw dot dmg is can be countered with adding some amount of toughness in your build.

Re: The rationale of inevitable DEATH - vs a Shaman.
When i post a topic i let it grow for a while in order to learn from people's experiences, but unfortunately, in this case, nobody had anything to counter the absurdity of the topic title.
So, i will continue in that direction : " How is a Shaman defined as a glass cannon if it can't be touched? How come Shaman's supposedly lesser HP and Armor can count as lesser in his case? ''
And let's say if everything above is true and i can't cleanse his damage, what one has left to do?
