They seem to be installed :

Code: Select all

ii libgnutls30t64:amd64 3.8.3-1.1ubuntu3.2 amd64 GNU TLS library - main runtime library
ii libgnutls30t64:i386 3.8.3-1.1ubuntu3.2 i386 GNU TLS library - main runtime library
I don’t really know what else to try. I’ve already tested a lot of things in the configuration (always resetting to default when it didn’t work). So I’ll try using different versions of Wine, as you suggest.

Edit : I have tried different versions of Wine (lutris-fshack-x, lutris-ge-x, lutris-x, wine-ge, from 8.26,7.2 to 5.6.5, my system wine). None of them work. I had some variations but it always get stucked to 1/2, 50% of downloading.

Super strange.
-Try with VPN if you can?
-Try switching to testing branch from launcher gog wheel and then back to production
-Try downloading the launcher manually from the first post under troubleshooting

Honestly im out of ideas. logs don't show anything special either..just some winsock and networking problems and then just exit.

Back to update you that I finally managed to launch it! :D I was able to find my goblin waiting there for... about 10 years (maybe?)!
For anyone experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 24 LTS, here’s what I did:

Uninstalled everything (Lutris, Wine) and deleted their related files and folders (.cache, .config folders and some wine files).
Reinstalled Lutris (lutris_0.5.18_all.deb) from this page: https://github.com/lutris/lutris/releases.
Retrieved the Alternate installer from this page: install-linux to replace the one in the RoRInstaller-May2024 folder.
Started the installation via the Install button on Lutris’ website: https://lutris.net/games/warhammer-onli ... reckoning/.
...and everything worked fine after that. Unfortunately, this doesn’t explain why it didn’t work before, but the installer was probably part of the issue.

Ohh. Was it the problem with the installer link you used before then? corrupted files?
or full lutris reinstall fixed it?

I’m not entirely sure. I suppose it was due to the installer, as I don’t think I had tried this method before.
Previously, I was using the RORInstaller.exe that came by default in the RORInstaller-May2024 folder.

Hmm that is very strange tbh.
I did try fresh install with the same RORInstaller-May2024 when i tested the script today with the dotnet.extract thing and it worked fine.. so i guess you somehow had corrupted installer before.. maybe not fully downloaded or something strange...

anyway, glad its solved. lets see if someone else runs into that problem also

I’m sorry I can’t help you further, and to be honest, I’m hesitant to try testing it again...
Thank you for your help anyway.

Back again, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to restart the game. Each time, the launcher crashes during updates. So, I uninstalled/reinstalled everything… and now I’m back with the same issue, even though I followed the same steps as last time.

I’m starting to think it’s more about my PC’s configuration than the game itself. I tried granting full permissions to all files and folders related to the game, but it didn’t help.

I’ll try some other things and keep you updated...

Aside from that, I wish you a merry christmas!

Edit :
When the update was stuck, the following error appeared in the logs:

Code: Select all

02cc:fixme:ntdll:RtlGetCurrentProcessorNumberEx (1622E578) :semi-stub
Running

Code: Select all

winetricks settings cpu=1
prevented the crash and allowed the update to continue, but it stopped just before the end with this error message:

Code: Select all

01d4:fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread ThreadIsIoPending info class not supported yet
A restart finally completed the update, and the CONNECT button was activated at last!

fixme stuff is harmless for 99.9% cases.
I think its something to do with our connection to the server or similar. I really don't have any other explanation to that.

You could maybe try installing the game with some other tool instead of Lutris. Like Bottles or Heroic Launcher i guess. You might need to manually add dotnet_bundle_extract stuff on those tools though.
