Here's the problem we have...
If we increase rested xp to what it used to be (10x or whatver), then people are gonna complain too much about leveling too fast during EU times.
If we bring back T3 kill quests or the xp that they gave you (30k xp for 9 quests) then NA again has a problem because T2 scenario queues are slow as hell and there is no Orvr to speak of.

Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
We used to have a guild Kobts stationed at a PQ in caledor with All out assault on there 24/7, people would join itrs group and leech exp of his kills, maybe if there was enough people someone would control it to speed things up.Penril wrote:On live people used to grind champ rats (way more boring than doing the PvE quests imho) so they could get to the highest possible levels
When Lotd came out there was a pQ in the river where you could man the ballistas, at any level and one shot the mobs that came in and they gave you full exp.
Point is, its a pvp game but people will use the best way to get to the caps asap, even if its pve and vastly more boring.
Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
Some do. Others want to stay in the lower tiers as long as possible to grind renown as well. This was specially true on live, where entering T4 at any rr level below rr70 was considered suicide by many people (not me, i entered T4 around rr40 on all my alts).bloodi wrote:We used to have a guild Kobts stationed at a PQ in caledor with All out assault on there 24/7, people would join itrs group and leech exp of his kills, maybe if there was enough people someone would control it to speed things up.Penril wrote:On live people used to grind champ rats (way more boring than doing the PvE quests imho) so they could get to the highest possible levels

Any leveling system that is implemented would have to consider both kinds of players. For example (this is NOT a suggestion, it is just an example, so dont bash me if you hate it):
- Increase XP/renown/inf in the RvR lakes for those who want to level up fast. This will also increase activity in the RvR lakes.
- Reduce XP in SCs. This is for the people who want to farm renown before moving to the next tier (or maybe they just want to farm emblems before they move on).
- Increase XP/inf in PvE quests in a way that lets you level out of your tier by the time you are done with the quests in a certain zone. If you finish most of the quests in Nordland/Norsca, you should be level 12 (not 9-10). If you finish most of the quests in Ostland/Troll country, you should be level 22 (not 19-20).
Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
Yes but if people level too fast in EU times, they can just not pick up quests, and there you go, more time in low tiers. Whereas a NA player, if they level too slow, well, too bad, you either deal with it or beg a guildie to plvl you.magter3001 wrote:Here's the problem we have...

But honestly, the problem isnt with vets. Ive leveled without kill quests through a combination of scens/rvr/quests/rat farming, and it was fine, might have taken a day longer than with t3 quests, but I can play a lot to make up for it, plus i have the knowledge to know where to grind fastest. For a new player that wants to hit t3 asap to play with his buddies, but only has an hour a night, it can be pretty disheartening, especially in NA times (and those are the people this game needs to keep playing).

Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
Nobody is forcing anybody. A lot of people want to enjoy lower tiers so buffing rvr XP is not always the best idea. Increasing PvE quest XP would be a decent alternative if you just want the fastest way to levelFoltestik wrote: worst idea ever force people to do more PVE to exp faster in PVP game ....

Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
Something like: so much xp from each quest (but not more) that making all t1, (empire for example), quests would level you up to 12lvl.

Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
Perhaps as an option and probably suggested elsewhere two types of quests? Stealing the idea from SWTOR you have your main PVE quest chain that deals with getting you to 32 through the story without having to explore? (Don't know why you'd not want to explore the world now that the bestiary is working though) And PVP Quests that grant Renown and/or influence rewards at war camps. Or would that perhaps be too fast? Suggestions are suggestions.
Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
T2 sucks. T2 has always sucked. T2 is where the game can be seen as "grindy" by some. I don't believe this, Ragnarok was grindy. I always found RvR in whatever way with no XP quests till you are out of T1, straight grind to t3, and then back to RvR.
The powergap between the classes and levels was always too prominent for me. And the pansy keep takes... And the zones seem far too spread out for what they are... I dislike T2 personally.
I would like to see a return of XP/RR/INF gains while fighting over a BO/Keep. And unbugged WBs. But this is mainly a NA timezone issue. Playing in EU prime you can kinda do whatever you want...

Re: Streamlining T1-2 leveling
The only people who are really going to suffer from these changes are people who want to twink out in t1/t2 and beat on noobs for a power trip. These people can be thrown under the bus for increased t3 population and easier leveling in my opinion :^)magter3001 wrote:Here's the problem we have...
