So you think that leaving the buff at 5s will make people ignore using EF?Nanji wrote: 1) the concept is: more dmg -> squishier, so why would I allow the SM to get 100% parry without effort?

No, "L2P" and "it's fine" aren't arguments at all, they are opinions and elitist ones at that.Portni wrote:Ah well, you are open for any change except SM's abilities.I didnt change my mind, generally I am open for any change. This one though is not helpful and therefore unnecessary.
1) yes, it feels like that
2) 2h sm
3) EF on 5s is fine
1) Well, it's only your's opinion. So it's not an argument.
2) As i remember order side has Oathbound's 25% parry for 10 seconds so SM (2h) is already OP. But is there an OP problem with Oathbound?
3) Not reason again. Maybe it's fine for you but it's only your's playstyle.
I do not feel this "L2P" (it sounds awfull) and "it's fine" reasons are good in general. It maybe would be good for complete beginners but here we have quite experienced community and if someone telling you so it mainly means use my playstyle. I prefer the vision of "Letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend".
The parity of E'F is basically being thrown out the window due to Wall of Darting Steel.

That.. doesn't make sense? Eagle's Flight still gives 25% parry, nothing was changed.Nanji wrote:No. I am using EF.Uchoo wrote:So you think that leaving the buff at 5s will make people ignore using EF?Nanji wrote: 1) the concept is: more dmg -> squishier, so why would I allow the SM to get 100% parry without effort?

Frequent use and occasional use are not the same.Uchoo wrote:

Going from occasional use to frequent use is a huge step for the sm.
Frequent use now is only possible if you take cuts in dmg and utility.

But i thought buffing EF didnt improve group utility at all and you explained that extensively in the now sadly deleted parts of the thread?Nanji wrote:Frequent use now is only possible if you take cuts in dmg and utility.
Re: Swordmaster & Eagle's Flight
Because I am not using EF frequently now, I dont take cuts in utility.bloodi wrote:But i thought buffing EF didnt improve group utility at all and you explained that extensively in the now sadly deleted parts of the thread?Nanji wrote:Frequent use now is only possible if you take cuts in dmg and utility.

If it gets buffed I would think about sacrificing a little bit of utility for my own survivability.

Re: Swordmaster & Eagle's Flight
I don't completely agree with your first point. In the current state of the game, without Wall of Darting Steel, the Swordmaster is at a disadvantage with a 2H equipped compared to every other avoidance buff, except in the case where you are being spam shattered, which I think we spent 10 pages covering in the initial thread.Azarael wrote:I'm satisfied that Eagle's Flight's duration should not change. My rationale for that:
- Changing the duration of E'F does not solve the principal issue cited with SM as a class (lack of group utility). It increases the SM's defenses, which are not lacking.
- Further change to SM does not appear necessary in the present state of RoR. If a competitive group is choosing to use SM, then clearly SM is viable in the current state of the game, on RoR. If this is because of a lack of good competition, then that's as may be, but the idea is that any such problems will be dealt with when they actually arise here, and not before.
How could you possibly define "competitive group" in this game? There is no ladder system, no ranking. If you take WoW arena for example, you could filter out the weak classes pretty easily if you looked at the highest MMR. If a 1700 team continues to bring something like a Demonology Warlock, they will probably remain a 1700 team.

Re: Swordmaster & Eagle's Flight
Increase EF duration to 10 seconds if using a SnB, keep it at 5 if using a 2H. Everyone happy now? 2H SMs wont be omg 100% parry OP!!! and SnB tanks will be able to use other skills more frequently. Just a small QoL change. I dont care about it tbh but oh well...
