Spent an hour think about the situation where both sides even. The result is open warfare as each side struggles to combat the other. The challenge is the opponent not the keep door.

Hello, if fight=fun, maybe game should maximalized rewards for killing and minimalized rewards for logistic thingy ?
Im not a great tactician or wb leader so dont be to hasty to attack me pls.
Honestly must admit, im avoid BO as hell, because my Mara are perma blocked by destro rdps/ healer who not move from position, i cant do any maneuver just run ahead like ram.
Personally for me is sad when whole WB standing in BO and 10 feet from this BO premade butchering random ppl. No action no help, no reaction, where da foq is realm pride
Somtimes its pure grotesque - in Praag (this week) i see situation when one KOTBS run in middle of the WB, who was so much organised that they all ignored him compltly. It was looking like one KOTBS was chasing one WB

I know most people say they don't play ORvR for gear, but I kind of play for gear, especially as a tank trying against the odds to survive melee blob. If I wanted to enjoy the combat mechanics of this game I would play scens, they are faster and more direct. So my main goal in orvr is always going to be to win as many bags as possible.
ORvR is more about large-scale wb v. wb and sieges, which is why I've never understood why kills should factor so heavily in getting contribution up (I assume, since we don't have #s). Unless you are on the numerically superior side (9/10 days its dest in prime time), you need to find a way to max out kills, which is probably going to be from finding someone your own size or smaller and picking on them. As glorious as it is, being fodder for dest zerg when you have 40% aao is not all that rewarding (# of deaths does not increase contribution as far as I know).
I certainly don't recommend being anywhere the zerg can locate you (i.e. changing a BO from white to blue). So yeah I am going to avoid that fight, sorry that I don't enjoy all the emotes on my corpse for getting a 3 grp wb, with 2 tanks and 2 heals run over by 2+ wbs of destro. Guild wb with BT or CNTK is the only time I will take that fight. Flipping the BO and then running still seems to give renown and the contribution (I assume), so I'm normally not staying around for any longer than it takes to get that. Not going to stay on the BO when they have 2 stars, we have 0, and there is no chance of holding it. IMO that is why BOs generally ought to be avoided and why people avoid "fights."

In fact, i try always try to find a balance between rules and purposes, and i can recommend such philosophy to all, with hand on heart.

That's where you are wrong. Most players can't kill, and as such there is no reward in fights, which leaves BO camping as the more attractive option. Big zergy fight>Big zergy fights where loosing side isn't even fighting back because they have been enjoying free RP ticks on a BO for the last hour, and are probably not even tabbed in to the game.
