you could argue to nerf stealthers in some way but i dont think nerfing stealth itself is the answer, this is probably the MMO with the weakest stealth and things like wow which have truly instant stealth dont have a problem with stealth itself but what they do AFTER the stealth

Stealth opens up a certain playstyle of roaming, nothing wrong with that. Also it was already cut in the past, it used to last longer.

The real problem is that after the december mdps patch, witch elf got completely unnecessary buffs that no one had asked for. Instead of balancing her the devs went bananas. Now you have this near unkitable toon that destroys armor quite effortlessly with little itemization tax investment since its built in the kit ( unlike WH).

So WE, 2 x pounce. Too much armor ignore ability, too much gap closing ability and snares. Little random buffs here and there etc.

WH whilst not nearly as bad, still got a needlessly powerful tactic in Atonment, its like the devs realized that WH would complain after all those WE goodies and in the last minute remembered the class existed and threw a bone to a starving dog, unfortunately in the same manner as the WE buffs, needlessly OP.

tl.dr. Careless mdps patch really with little consideration for smaller scale balance.

The WE didn't get anything that it didn't already have. X2 pounce has to be specced to do, losing a mastery skill point and on top of that they have to use another ability to re-engage it. Slice was nerfed. RA was nerfed.

As far as ignoring armor, one armor debuff on a WE leaves the essentially naked. Now the WHs BAL hits for over 5k and the just run away and shoot from midrange. Two WHs putting BAL on anyone is 10k damage, they can now ignore you.

This is just a whiney thread by someone who died to a WE. They dont know how to counter them.

I'm fine with WEs doing serious damage in their dps spec, I just wish they brought WHs a bit closer in theirs. (I understand WHs were never meant to have as high burst as WEs due to higher speccable defenses.)
I do have an issue with instant stealth that they've added on this server. Stealthers were absolutely capable enough on live and on this server with their career ability alone. It just seems like an uneeded crutch added for whatever reason. To your point on pounce, another uneeded utility added to I guess make mistakes less severe which, in my opinion, just breeds a more forgiving experience for the WE. Balance team should simply keep these classes assassins with high damage, gut any chance of an effective defensive build for either class, and reduce the extra utility they've been given. A stealther should carefully choose their target(s), kill quickly, then get out. Now it just feels too safe to play with the risk/reward that used to make these classes exciting, far less frequent

BAL is certainly strong, especially with Atonement now. But, it is a DoT and it is cleansable.

“The Witch Hunter Crisis Escalates: Destruction Frontline Morale in Freefall”

Praag — What began as isolated complaints from frontline Marauders has now spiraled into a full-scale psychological catastrophe across Destruction warbands following the widespread deployment of Witch Hunters utilizing the controversial ability known only as "Burn Away Lies".

Military officials from multiple Chaos-aligned factions are describing the situation as “completely unsustainable.”

Reports first emerged shortly after organized warbands encountered coordinated Witch Hunter detachments operating near keeps and battlefield objectives throughout the realms.

Survivors describe scenes of absolute devastation.

“One second I was winning the duel,” said one shaken Chosen while chain-smoking near a supply wagon outside Chaos Wastes.

“The next second some man in a hat pressed BAL and my health bar entered the Realm of Chaos.”

According to battlefield analysts, the ability’s impact extends far beyond conventional combat mechanics.

“This is no longer physical warfare,” stated one exhausted Magus tactician.

“This is emotional warfare.”

Medical encampments across the Eightpoints have reported a dramatic increase in symptoms among Destruction troops, including:

* Sudden distrust of hats
* Panic-cleansing nonexistent debuffs
* Violent reactions to pistol noises
* Marauders asking tanks for guard “just in case”
* Entire melee trains collapsing after hearing the words: “Repent.”

One Goblin Shaman, visibly trembling after six consecutive city sieges, gave a brief statement before staring silently into a campfire for several minutes.

“I used to fear Bright Wizards.”

“…now every coat has a gun under it.”

The Varanspire Department of Tactical Balance has reportedly launched an emergency investigation into allegations that "Burn Away Lies" may currently include several undocumented secondary effects, including:

* Spiritual armor penetration
* Passive morale annihilation
* Direct damage to player confidence
* Increased healer blood pressure
* The ability to crit directly into voice communications

Several Black Orc commanders have publicly questioned whether the skill was balanced using “real numbers” or “whatever was left in the cauldron after lunch.”

One furious Choppa was reportedly heard screaming during a keep defense: “HOW DOES A MAN WITH A HAT HIT HARDER THAN A BLOODTHIRSTER?”

Destruction guilds have already begun implementing emergency protocols in response to escalating Witch Hunter activity, including:

As of publication, Destruction representatives are petitioning for urgent battlefield reforms, including:

* Reduced exposure to righteousness
* BAL requiring written consent before activation
* A mandatory 5-second warning before Witch Hunters crit
* Government-funded trauma recovery for melee DPS

The situation remains dire.

Military scholars now warn that if current conditions persist, Destruction warbands may soon abandon organized combat entirely in favor of “hiding behind terrain and pretending Witch Hunters aren’t real.”

At press time, another Choppa was reportedly heard yelling: “WITCHBREW IS FINE, YOU COWARDS.”
