Sure you have the occasional outburst of frustration when one faction is camping other factions WC, but I find most of the trashtalking is within one realm. At least the most toxic of it anyway, when some misguided person thinks he knows 10 times more about gameplay than the rest of the players on his facftion. That type of person tend to get really toxic real quick. I usually put on /ignore and problem solved until NeXT misguided individual logs in (or crosses over :p)

Come on* Ponyland*

And no, we don't. But showing a bit of respect for someone who bested you. Is that really too much to ask? There's no reason to get nasty. We all play this game to have fun. Being called a "retard", "L2P" or some such isn't much fun, and quite frankly, it even breaks the immersion, if you care about that sort of stuff.

The only problem with /ignore is that, that only works for you. How many people does that one guy have to annoy/piss off. All of those have to put that one idiot on ignore. It shouldn't be like that. Should be that one player who should change his attitude instead.

Btw, we should report serious trashtalking in game to GM's, or there is no such man, who would handle that sort of things?

I enjoy casually talking with the enemy faction. The issue always ends up being there's SOMEONE that doesn't like it and tries to ruin it on both sides, but otherwise I find them a fun way to remind yourself those enemies are players who have just as much emotions and opinions as you do. Plus it can lead to epic honor duels and those are generally fun as Hell.

Edit: Oh, as for trash-talking, it happens. If there WASN'T trash-talking then I'd be more worried than if there was a lot of it. MMOs with players on opposing factions are highly competitive and so aggression will not only be present, it'll be a hallmark of motivation especially as you hit end-game.Loot and all that, sure, but genuinely wanting to crush your opponent will always be a powerful tool in inciting action. Trash-talking is a by-product of this. As long as it's not strongly offensive I'd say grow thicker skin and let it go. If it violates ToS (racial, non-game threats, etc) then sure, report or just ignore. If we make your standard everyday trash-talking a crime, how long will it be before "I disagree with you" is considered trash-talking and thus a bannable offense? Good luck getting feedback at that point.
