Rereading some previous threads in this forum I came across this sentence by Genisaurus:
"1. On principle, from purely a design perspective, I see no reason why any lifetap should have a healing component less than 100% of damage dealt, even if it has a guaranteed minimum value."
I completely agree (it was inserted in a discussion of WP's lifetap ability Sigmar's Radiance), and I thought of another lifetap ability that would need a boost, because right now it is really underwhelming. BG's Feeding on weakness heals for a maximum of 75% when in full hate on a 5 secs cd. It is in the pure tank BG tree. right now it isn't really useful.
I know that BW and magus have similar lifetap abilities on 5 secs and 3 sec cd(with tactic) for a fixed 50% health return. But somehow I consider it is more necessary to boost it in the case of the BG, whose damage isnt naturally as high and BG needs to hit opponents in the forefront of battle to get the lifetap.

Re: Feeding on Weakness
Doesn't solve the whole SnB BG lack of group buffs compared to Chosen/BO and provides additional unnecessary, in my opinion, buff to a quite strong 2h BG by pushing him closer to that Dispenser of Kokaine silly-lifetap territory.

Re: Feeding on Weakness
hmm not really. 2h BG, with no access to longest KD in the game and no HtL to avoid being eaten alive by rdps isn't exactly very strong, or is not nearly as strong as he could be. But the thing is that a raise from 75% to 100% or 125% won't put BG anywhere near the self healing abilities of Dok. Not by a long stretch. Especially in a ability with low base damage that deals physical damage and has a 5 sec cd to it. And what is even more painful, I don't think dps 2h BGs spec into middle tree. Afaik a BG that wants to deal meaningful has to go high up left hand tree (crit tactic, wounds debuff/AA haste, etc, increase the armor debuff,...)and also grab some key stuff in the right hand tree (outgoing heal debuff, maybe no detaunt tactic).
If you want to maximize the potential of Feeding on Weakness you have to spend points in the middle tree to increase its base damage, thus ruining your dps spec.
My idea is for Feeding on Weakness to provide some additional support to a tank to help him to last a little bit longer and protect his team, never to add power to a self healing dps tank (which couldn't be achieved anyways with such a small change. The lifetap would never be powerful enough.)

Re: Feeding on Weakness
FoW's healing component seems like a total afterthought. My view is that if an effect is too weak to matter, there was no point wasting time implementing it in the first place.
Re: Feeding on Weakness
Would disagree with 2h BG being weak and SnB BG lacking survivability, but gladly leave it to the Dark Elf section of the forum, where I suggest the thread should be moved.

Re: Feeding on Weakness
I would also disagree with 2h BG being weak and SnB BG lacking survivability if someone had ACTUALLY written that
As I DID say before, 2h BG isn't as strong as it could be (and there are some threads in this forum discussing how to give them stuff to make up for what they lose by going 2h), and in my experience even the most survivable tank spec could use a little extra help to make him last a bit longer in some situations. Precisely because, as we all have experienced many times, a little bit of extra healing is wasted on a squishy friendly target but can make all the difference in a very tough tank.
And yes, I should have begun this thread in the Dark Elves section. My bad. Thanks for moving it:)

Damn me and my sometimes lacking reading skills >_<
Still somehow its hard for me to imagine the situation where a heal for an extra 200 would make a difference for a group oriented Sword and Board (term often used here) BG.

Re: Feeding on Weakness
I remember that heal component being always there, I thought I even laughed at it during the original Knight/Blackguard release event. Its the Horrific Would that was changed from something useless to an armor debuff some time after.Torquemadra wrote: If I recall correctly it was tacked on as an after thought and the heal component came some time after the release of the blackguard.
