[Zealot]DPS Zealot Thread

So, in spite of the haters I feel like we need to have a thread for all things DPS Zealot related.

I'll start off by putting some builds that(for future use) I think would be interesting to use(and I realize that most things were already explored back in Live but I wasn't a Zealot then).

The 50% Heal Debuff build(not official, just my take on what one would be). Get as many people hit with Spittle as you can, tab target spread Warp when you can and channel Agitation for more chances to proc the debuff.

I'm not sure how the tactic for the Rituals works in terms of if it can crit or not but it's more AoE damage anyway with your AP Ritual to help your team keep the pain going.

This will probably be the only viable aspect of a DPS Zealot, being a massive Heal Debuff bot.

A build that I'm currently experimenting with as I level up(only 28 atm) that I feel would be better at ST assist killing, especially for Healers with Mirror of Madness on them. In my garbage gear in SC's my Ravens are critting for 500-750(depends on target) on a tick right now so it's not shabby, only goes up from there.

Put Warp on a few people to get instant cast procs for Scourge which should crit pretty good with the Crit% increase along with Cry. This build also brings the M4 for a large HoT and again AP regen increase(it seems to be our main offensive support ability).

I haven't decided how Renown will be spent yet but I'm leaning towards Magic Crit 3 and Deft 3 since you'll be closer to the front than you really want to be. Armor/Wounds Talismans and Int where possible(haven't tested this yet).

I realize that, realistically, this build probably won't work well in organized skirmishes as you'll probably get trained hard once people see you/realize what you are doing. However in random SC's, could(and does so far) have some merit.

Rip my builds apart(I am still new to Zealot for the most part) and post your thoughts/builds/theories here.

I'm going to reserve this spot on the thread and update it with general thoughts on what we can do in the future(balance wise) to try and help DPS Zealot be more viable. Obviously it shouldn't ever reach the heights of true RDPS but there are things that could be improved upon. A couple initial thoughts:

1. Any skills that don't specifically state Corp damage need to be updated to be Corp damage(Agitation, Boon of Tzeentch etc). Only having to worry about one damage type and being a damage type that the Zealot themselves can debuff is great.

2. Transference could be boosted to 75% heal of damage dealt to encourage a lifetap playstyle(possibly even 100% if damage never get's boosted). A Ranged Grace WP playstyle if you will(although slightly more selfish since it's only defensive target not group heals).

So i start

First - AM, shammy, doks, and wps have a ddset called "New Mercenary" they get (+ 29 Willpower + 29 Toughness + 61 Wounds + 28 Initiative + 205 Intelligence + 320 Corporeal Resist + 2% Dodge + 3 AP Per Second + 5% Magic Crit + 2% Disrupt strikethrough + 3% Crit Reduction + 1 Middle Tree) and bonus of (+ 62 Intelligence + 320 Corporeal Resist + 5% Magic Crit + 1 Middle Tree) or simmilar why RP and zeals have no ddset its need to be changed we need some love too.

Second - according to http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=am; http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=zea;

Radiant Lance have 344 dmg and zeals(Scourge) and same skill for rp have 277 dmg - kinda same skill 2 sec cast time direct damage, its need to be equal

Law of conductivity 710 - Warp Reality 610 again same skill 15 sec dot - equal

Searing touch 344 per tick (4 ticks - 1376 total)- Storm of Ravens 1092 total - 273 per tick again same ability channel 4 ticks - equal

Balance Essence 277 dmg 2 sec cast 150% dmg to heal no cooldown - Boon of Tzeentch 310 dmg 2 sec cast 150% dmg to heal and 5 sec cd - i thik zeals skill must be nerfed to dmg of am skill but gen no cd. again kill with same mechanic

Third - zeals and rp both have a good skills but same a useless and nobodu use them i think we can mirrored the good ones and replace bad with them

Zeals Chaotic Agitation and RP Rune of Battle which no rp ever uses - change to zeals skill mechanic

Winds of insainity evere body love it especiali order whom boucing around by it :mrgreen: and rps Grimnir's Fury again never used buy RP - change to zeals skill mechanic

Master Rune of Fury - gets AP for any skill use - Ritual of Innervation only gats AP for attacks not heals or buffs - change to RP skill mechanic

Rune of Fate 1162 dmg dot for 24 sec and return 100% of it as heal, am have Transfer Force dot 24 sec 150% dmg to heal, its need to be similar am dmg to heal % due same mechanics or dmg up due less dmg to heal, zeals have Mirror of Madness on the same spot which never used - change to RP skill mechanic and get a dmg buff or dmg to heal % buff

It's not appropriate on the forums at this time. People think that because it's being talked about that the devs are taking any of the balance stuff into consideration. Instead, as your previous thread was locked, don't bother with balance topics until the balance forums are running and devs can address your issues.

You want to talk about rotations, tactics, builds, etc? Great, do that. There's a lot of different ways to play zealot, and those kinds of threads are more than appropriate.

If you want to talk about why X ability is bad and needs Y changes?
Don't bother. It's a good way to get your thread shutdown.

Edit:I tried this spec with bubble Ritual and its Lot of fun. Was second in death blows in sc. Self heal thru damage and healdebuff feels really good. And i love the Animation of the channeling spell (flying crows), finally zealot feels like a deadly witch!
