Warhammer Online Crashing Video:Reboot required.

Hey all,

recently WAR has been black screen crashing the video after about 2-5 minutes of play. It would do it once or twice an evening, so I put up with it. Now its chronic.
I have gone through the standard steps to isolate the issue. the system specs are:
GPU: GeForce GTX 570
CPU: Intel i5 750@ 2.65 GHz
20 GB ram
Current Res 1920x 1200
rolled back driver 359.00
OS Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit)

GPU Temp and CPU temp are fine, I tested the scenario from cold boot, and also after playing Fallout 4 ( which cranks the GPU temp to 80c) and then running WAR, and the crash time is about the same, in fact the GPU temp was dropping fast, which validates the idea that WAR doesnt push my card any where near as hard as Fallout 4.

Downloaded the client, ( multiple times, due to the torrent being FUBAR, the direct download not being chrome friendly, etc etc)
Nice clean new install, run as ADMIN, ZERO addons enabled.
Same crash after 3 minutes in game.

New Character, same deal no joy.

I can run 3dsmax 2015, Photoshop CS, a couple of chrome tabs and Office and Outlook, no issues all day. Its unlikely to be the PC being pushed too hard.

I really enjoy the game, but as it stands I just can't play it, and I have been playing for a long time.
If anyone can offer any insight, I'd appreciate it.

And it appears to be a Display driver crash.
I did some additional testing, and with a youtube video running , I can still hear the video running just fine.
It is "Just" the display driver crashing. I have rolled back to a Nvida driver from december 2015 when the game was still running fine, and no improvement.
Any comments from tech support?

what makes you think it is a display driver crash?

The game DCs people all the time. Some people experience it far more than others, and I would hazard a guess that it is determined by your ping to the server. Not your graphics.

This game will run on any POS. It is not that graphics intensive, ram a bit, but not bad at all on low settings.

The problem seems to be server side, and or trying to connect with a server in Germany.

Where are you located world wide?
What is your ping to the server?
Try enabling some of the basic graphical addons. If it isn't working with em off, try it with them on.
Firewall? Run as admin? I assume you checked all the basics...
Do you have another computer you can try the game with on your connection?
Try turning off everything that access the internet (besides game and launcher obviously)

Well, lets see the display driver crashes, but all other functions are still running.
Checked in with former colleagues still in game dev (specifically games graphics), they think its highly unlikely that packet loss or ping would result in a total driver crash.
I can hear audio and I can path to and manipulate drives and files from my other PC via network.
My ping is about 280, for FPS its shite, for this game its ok.
Im located in Australia
Fire wall, and admin, check
everything off before running, check
Ill try graphical addons, which ones should I try?
I could test on the other PC, that could be interesting.
