Tovl for fun!

So I got a little bored while the server was down and I thought I'd share my idea of what group composition makes a "perfect" tovl party. Feel free to poke holes in it as much as you like or better yet submit your own, so with that said lets start off with the healers.

1. Zealot
This for be is a good place to start the zealot has some of the best single target healing in the game quiet essential to keep that tank up, however the main reason I'm looking at zealot here is for the ritual of innervation as I'm planning to give this group a melee focus this one ability should go a long way towards ensuring the dps can sustain over the long fight. All this said the zealot has one weakness it cant cleanse ailments something that is necessary for the instance which brings us to.

2. Dok
They really get everywhere don't they, at first glance doks don't make very good pve healers, however they do have several nice tools we will want for the instance namely enchantment shatter, aoe ailment cleanse and a tactic to give out more ap. Why are these important? well on certain bosses failure to shatter an enchantment will instantly wipe your group, on certain other bosses all group members will have a stacking ailment applied that reduces healing and damage output and having more ap is always good for the dps.

Right with healers sorted we come to the dps as i said elsewhere ill be giving it a melee focus so lets start with...

3. Witch Elf
The witch elf is the first pick for one reason crit it provides its group so much crit its impossible to pass up. Between its initiative debuff and death reaper morale the jar of boss 5 doesn't stand a chance.

4. Mara
Nothing really to see here its lord of the debuffs and hits like a train.

5. Choppa
The big boy who is going to dish out the most dps, if you manage to save for "we'z fightn' betta" it will make very short work of the boss 5 jar.

6. Chosen
Just a tank with sustained high mitigation and good agro control. I would of gone with black orc here however its unlikely should tovl return that it will be anywhere near as buggy as it was on live so chosen piped it out. Between crippling strikes, a really high parry and great agro management (on live it was hard to wrestle it away from um) the chosen is the tank for the job.

I think i prefer the Legion of Boom version with 4 slayers :p
Scaarlett - Disciple of Khaine | Scarlett - Witch Elf | Scarlettonice - Sorceress | Scarlette - Zealot

Scarlettonfire - Bright Wizzard | Scarlettsm - Swordmaster | Scarlettm - Witch Hunter | Navselene - Archmage

Magus/Engi for AP aura. Also able to deliver really good sustained DPS. An engineer should slot coordinated fire to boost party damage by 15%. Setup times and burst don't mean much on fights measured in minutes and you can still carry your weight on the jars.

Single target aggro is pretty similar across the tanks. The damage aura does make group control vs healing trivial but any experienced dungeon tank should be able to make do with their AOE options.

TOVL can be done with pretty much any setup.
Ssustained dps even out the dps classes. Even Dps healer are viable. And DoK/WP single target heals capabillity are much better then people think they are.
Also Zealot/RP should fovus on groupheals even in PVE instances as it's their best way to generate AP to themself and procing the buffs.

Magus was fine for this, bringing 15% party damage and mist (once high enough for mist/boc).

After ToVL got nerfed into the ground any group could do it yes. Destro had a pretty nice advantage over order class wise when people were racing for boss kills. I still remember sitting on the phylactery boss for like 5 hours just wiping like madmen trying to get the 1st kill but getting beat by destro.

Hopefully the devs here make lost vale / ToVL extremely hard, especially considering how much easier it is going to be compared to early days on live in terms of acquiring RvR gear.

We're planning to overhaul the old mechanics and basically re-design the boss fights in the end-game instances. This way people will have to figure out a new meta for speedrunning, and will also make it more of a challenge in general to get through these dungeons at first. Also, we hope it'll prevent bugging/countering the ****-up designs that Mythic forced on us. Some things they did were 'okay' and worked, but other aspects need to be fixed and heavily tweaked so people actually have to work for their PvE gear sets in these dungeons.

It certainly needed an overhaul in places like bosses 4 and 6 for instance where the tank just bugged it then went afk or the vultures before boss 8. The loot also kinda needs to be relevant for T4 for all classes as on live tank's rarely used it and only a 90+ could use a full glyph set.

Now now, it was 3 rr100 slayers and a rr100 WL (KYMIX I MISS YOU BABY WHERE ARE YOU) plus KOTBS and either WP or RP

The best part of that run was 6 manning the world boss at a speed I didn't think possible.
