Before anyone flips out I was curious of what the opinions of people are. Please direct comments at me to my inbox or to your local pub where you like to trash talk people you play video games with. Otherwise I'll ask that such comments be deleted.
1. Do you guys think debolstering as a whole is a good idea? (I do)
2. Is everyone aware that there are ways to take gear out of the allowed level range and into tier 2? If not, I think they should be informed so that they can look up these people or inspect them. I would even suggest that the act of debolstering makes you unable to be anonymous for this very reason. I know several ways around the becoming a chicken have been fixed. But I have seen in the last several days numerous people with 30+ gear, and I wasn't paying attention/thinking anything of it until later that night.
3. What can be done to help make it a more fun experience? Most of the 35 people I have seen running around are in groups with other 35's and usually aren't in WB's, they take the gears of war/gifts of war quests, debolster, get a ton of kills and then turn them in... This is sad.
- I think having more experienced players in the lower tiers is a good idea. I just wish they would participate in the WB's and help the players out rather than in smaller groups destroying entire "off-com" warbands for fun b/c they are bored and have been 35/40 for a really long time.
- Lastly, do you think this entire issue of T2 being a **** show will be fixed when T4 comes about so it isn't really worth worrying about? But as it stands currently, it is a huge problem and a lot of T2 people are getting pretty upset, especially newer players that we should be encouraging to play in WB's to learn the ropes. Not get destroyed by twinked out DPS AM's/Shammy's/Magus/Engi and so on. I get that a lot of these classes don't have a very good place in the future of this game, but they need to realize that balance changes could help with that and to stop ruining other people's fun. Just yesterday I had a full warband in T2, and a group of 4-5 DPS AM's just ran around fully twinked out slaughtering people as I was trying to help and explain as many things as I could. I swapped to order and asked around. Apparently they refused to join with the others or offer any help and even were being quite rude.
In the future, I will do my best to take screen shots for proof but for now all I have is my words. So lemme know what you guys think of debolstering and maybe what can be done to clean it up a little bit so everyone can have fun? I really don't care about veteran feelings as T2 is a place where newer players first start spending any significant amount of time in the lakes/leveling/learning the classes/tactics. And right now, it is an uber troll fest. I really do like this server and would like this kind of douchery to be delt with. Thank you!

I've heard it reported but do not know how to reproduce.freshour wrote:2. Is everyone aware that there are ways to take gear out of the allowed level range and into tier 2? Re: Debolstering - Is it fun for everyone?
Judging from advice chat I think we need to clarify a few things.
1) Debolster players don't have access to abilities outside the tier they participate on. Meaning: In T2 they will only have all abilities up to level 26.
2) Debolster players have no additional tactics or tactic slots that.
3) The maximum amount of mastery points is also capped at 2 in T1 and 11 in T2.
4) Debolster players can't wear items above the zone cap. If players do wear higher level items they are absuing a bug and probably risk getting banned
With all that out of the way, I don't think it's a big problem. It is not done in large enough portions and will probably become even less once T4 comes in.
Players not being in a warband is not that surprising, considering most public warbands are just a huge xp/renown leech.

Re: Debolstering - Is it fun for everyone?
I 100% saw a level 35 magus and 35 AM with level 31 green gear and 28 T3 RvR gear. So it might just be a few people who really are ruining it for quite a few. I know I didn't spend much free time in T2 til I recently got 3 long time friends to play and I got a little curious that some people for "performing" really really well for some reason lol.
But I hope you are right Shadow, and that it clears up a bit when T4 comes out. Lord knows we are all doing whatever we can to pass the time, most of us are productive and helpful, some... are douches haha. I guess I would also add that this is no way an incentive to speed up T4 coming as I'm glad it is taking its time so its release is as smooth as possible

This information has already been posted before; the morons shitstirring in advice chat will always be morons, never read the forums, and always cause trouble. This is a futile attempt my friend.Shadowgurke wrote:Judging from advice chat I think we need to clarify a few things.

Re: Debolstering - Is it fun for everyone?
It most likely isnt fun for everyone but i dont necessary think its a debolster issue, new guys into a tier will always be up against it when fighting higher rank players, be it a level 26 v a level 13 or a level 35 debolster v a level 13.
Yet to debolster and see how it all works but i believe players who do debolster should be at a disadvantage, i would like to see renown points capped at player level rather then double as its very very unlikely a player in a lower tier will have double there rank in renown.
Debolstering is a good implementation and who knows maybe lower tiers could play a part in how the t4 campaign pushing to city works in the future. Also allows us to get the lair gear from t1 which is awsome.

Keep in mind that the issue right there is that 13 vs 26 is never fair, regardless of debolster or not. With brackets going back to normal after T4, level 12 vs. 21 is no longer that much of a differenceMorf wrote:It most likely isnt fun for everyone but i dont necessary think its a debolster issue, new guys into a tier will always be up against it when fighting higher rank players, be it a level 26 v a level 13 or a level 35 debolster v a level 13.

Re: Debolstering - Is it fun for everyone?
I think debolstering is absolutely amazing.
You are for all intents and purposes level 26. A twinked level 26, but a level 26 none the less.
If people have found ways to "cheat" by using higher level items, then that is not a problem with debolstering itself, but rather people trying to cheat, like everywhere else in the game. People like that needs to be reported, warned and/or banned. Whatever is needed to make it stop.
But if you ignore the cheaters for a moment, I think that debolstering is extremely fun, especially when you do it with other people - It can be with as little as 2 guildies, friends or whatever.
The thing is that T2 is usually active, so it's a great way to do something in RvR, when T3 is dead, which it can be quite often doing the middle of the day, or in the weekends.
