Healing

Post#1 » Mon Dec 01, 2014 12:17 am

Anyone notice something strange about it? The healing right now is too powerful (in the opinion of myself and my mates, one of whom is a healer). In the scenarios, if the other team has at least three healers, the team is, in essence, invincible. Long battles without end take place with no one at all dying. You have those who say "attack the healers first." But that happens and they just don't die.

Well its mostly because not every class is working, there can't really be a balance when things that are supposed to hinder heals like WH bullets don't affect them at all and only do extra damage. Once all the classes get all their T1 abilities working we can see if healers are still as indestructible as they seem now.

Healing isnt higher. Its was always high in T1 as was healer survivability. Dps is alot lower than it was. Alot of the dps effects and stats dont work right now. From some abilities to things like weapon dps and autoattacks.

Also healing was alot less stat dependant. Where as dps classes could push to 300 on a main stat in t1 with pots and talismans healers still put out alot of healing with much lower will.

It will be quite a while before the game is like what we remember. Probably a couple of years yet.

It isn't just for show

Heals are fine. They will eventually run out of AP. Compare that to the situation we had a month ago when all classes had effectively infinite AP and you'll truly understand what "nobody dying" really means.

WDPS works on abilities. Auto attacks are however not as strong as they should be by my calculation. Tried on a Lv7 mob:

Reduced 30 damage from my Gryphon's Lash:

Tou/5 * 1.5 = 30
Tou/5 = 20
Foe Tou = 100

My Str = 132

Per http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... f=11&t=879:

Dmg = (((Str-Tou)/10) + Wdps)*(Wspeed)

ignoring armor term as mobs don't have it

Str-Tou = 32
WDPS = 23.2
WSpd = 3.5

(3.2 + 23.2) * 3.5 = atk

atk = 92.4

Actual attack in game hit for 63.

Feel free to correct if you see any mistakes.

War wasn't designed around balanced T1 abilities. Most of anti-healer abilities (cc, debuffs, etc) start showing up at end of t2 (level 25-39).

Just need to wait until T2 is introduced.

Way to miss my point Azarael, MY POINT WAS that since the abilities for a majority of classes are bugged or non-functional it would be silly to even think of balancing before that was done tightened up.

Feel free to say what you wish, but don't get it wrong - WH bullets work.

In the link you just posted, it even says that no they don't work as intended or as they used to, it is supposed to lessen outgoing heals not incoming as it directly affects healing abilities on the target, not being healed.

Ya as in they don't lessen the healer's healing ability, I can put it on them and switch to their defensive target and they will still heal just as much as before, it will only affect if they try to heal themselves.
