I love ROR, but playing it again got my buddies and I thinking about this earlier. With the commercial success of Total War: Warhammer, Vermintide, and Mordheim, WHFB is a hot Commodity at the moment. With Warhammer Fantasy being ended, its views seem to be shifting towards the video game audience. Warhammer Online might have been released too early for its time, and if they were going to bring it back, now would be the time.
Knowing Games Workshop's past, and EA, they like money. And GW is known for resurrecting things. Do you think Official Warhammer Online could be seen again?
How likely do you think official WAR will return?

Everything is possible on theory. But let's be real here, IF (and that's a big if) they pull out WaR from the graveyard it'll be either on the old p2p (highly unlikely) model and fail, or on a p2w model and will still most likely fail.Unless they completely rework it with a new engine, don't go full derpderp retard mode with the cash shop and be cool about it. But then again...ElectricAnus is everything but cool.

checking as well, EA dropped the trademark of Warhammer Age of Reckoning on June 12, 2015. Which means that WAR could actually get bought and picked up by a different Publisher. Games Workshop is the owner of the Domain, and they have it registered out till 2018, they extended it 3 years, back in 2015.

Oh but it would be typical, wouldn't it?
Aza, Geni and the gang have just finished touching up RoR after having implemented everything - gear, dungeons, improved rvr/fort, classes balanced and Magus being compulsory in a proper 6v6 - and each enjoy a glass of chilled sancerre whilst admiring the fruits of their labour...only for GW to come back and revive WAR.
tbh even if it ever did happen, the likelihood of ror's playerbase leaving would be very small.

Why would anyone take the risk of reviving a bugged, failed, unfinished and incredibly outdated multimillion Triple a title.

No only that, but who the heck shuts down an MMO only to turn it on years later?saupreusse wrote:Why would anyone take the risk of reviving a bugged, failed, unfinished and incredibly outdated multimillion Triple a title.

Quite so. Still, if it does happen i bet bunch of salty buttholes will undoubtedly immediately leave and we'll be better off for it. We literally can't lose!peterthepan3 wrote:the likelihood of ror's playerbase leaving would be very small.
