[Engineer] LF T2-T4 Gren builds.
As the title suggests I'm looking for a strong AoE grenadier build for T2 onwards. I'm aware rifleman is pretty strong til T4 but I have far too much fun with gren. That being said I was curious what stats you shoot for as far as RR traits and gear is concerned as far as gemming and stat priorities (possible RvR set preferences?). Thank you all very much in advance <3.

For defensive renowns you want dodge / disrupt. It is very good.
For offensive get ranged crit, then maybe BS. But crit is #1.
As far as specs you want throwing arm, and napalm. Max the tree for maximum damage. The extra ranks give you more dps on firebomb / napalm than 50 damage bonus will.

Appreciate all the info, you suggest dumping all points into the gren tree or do you suggest a few points in a secondary?Karast wrote:For defensive renowns you want dodge / disrupt. It is very good.

Early on you want to go all grenade.
Grenade dots like acid bomb / frag grenade / sticky bomb don't get a lot of stat contribution so you need to max the tree to get the most out of them. The same is true of napalm. I personally avoid sticky bomb but some people spec it.
Firebomb is a good skill that scales well, and with a high point spec it does good damage. Once you max or nearly max the tree at 40 you can side spec into either rifle or tinker.
Rifle gets you better ST dots from coordinated fire / incendiary rounds, and it ups your focused fire / hipshot damage with are good for finishing / spiking.
Tinker is better for AOE. Lightning rod is a beast combine with M2 napalm, and aoe dots. Friction burn is also really good and will do a lot of damage close up. You can also get the AP tactic or trench fighting. Personally I like doing a tinker side spec more.

Do the Skillpoints in the tree (only the yellow oned for pathing) also grant dps? Because on another char i tested if i get any bonus, but i did't O.ô
Re: [Engineer] LF T2-T4 Gren builds.
They do. They increase the level of the ability, and thus the base damage. But on some skills the base damage is so low, and the dot duration so long, that you might hardly notice the increase with only 1-2 points. Be sure to make sure you actually spec'd the points as well. If you are use a +1 path bonus on a set and swap gear, it will screw up your mastery spec if you spec'd an ability as well.BrockRiefenstahl wrote:Do the Skillpoints in the tree (only the yellow oned for pathing) also grant dps?
