Hello RoR Peeps, newbie questions here

Hey there,

Sorry to be the annoying person who asks this type of question, but I remember during WAR there was pretty bad faction balancing and I would like some help choosing a class while considering this. Just to clarify, I am NOT looking for the OP fotm class, I'm trying to make sure I don't get to level 40 and my class is either unwanted in groups or unviable.

Right now, I kinda wanna play Order as a Dwarf. I'm not sure which class to play but I like the Dwarf aesthetic. If a particular role or class is in demand I might choose that one, so how is the world doing for healers, tanks and DPS?. And from a PvP perspective how are the Dwarf classes right now?

Order seems to be the smaller faction right now, and it's not that which bothers me but I have a couple of questions. In comparison with Destro does the community feel noticeably smaller or is it much harder to find groups? Also is Order putting up a fight against Destro in RvR? I don't mind playing the smaller/worse faction but I'd like to still progress if I join the right guild etc.

Finally, given that you start in the human realm no matter what race you pick, are the other realms dead? I'd like to level up as a dwarf but I don't want the RvR lakes to be dead and be the only one there.

Thanks for your help :)

you can go to the other pairings and most things work from what I have seen, but the RvR lakes outside of Chaos/Emp will be dead. The occasional 2 man roamer or people attempting to kill the Lair Boss is the only time you will really see action.

your question about which class to play to be useful later on is hard to answer. If you mean you wish to be part of a top tier 6 man SC group, Casual SC groups, or looking for specifically RvR focused Warband groups.

Unfortunately, I cannot give much info about the Dwarves, I play a Slayer which is certainly good in a proper 6 man, but can be nearly useless unless he has the group to support it.

Hi thanks for your reply! I will bear that in mind and for now I will stick to the Chaos/Emp pairing until perhaps the server becomes more active :)

Anyway, I'm looking to be useful in a specifically RvR setting. As I never played endgame during live I'm not sure how it works properly. From what I understood you had to do some PvE as well as RvR, but my main priority is being of use/in-demand in a large scale RvR setting, in the Tier 4 RvR lakes.

As long as I'm viable in the PvE as well I don't care whether or not it's the best class for the job. As long as it's considered a good class in RvR that's fine.

I don't want to play and Elf and I also like the human classes a lot. How are the Witch Hunters, Bright Wizards and Warrior Priests doing? All three of those classes appeal to me (Knight not so much).

in tier 1 Emp/Chaos is the place to be for RVR, if you plan on questing the dwarf quests are really cool.

Dwarfs are pretty awesome, entire RP guilds devoted to their greatness, Healing Rune Priests will always have a place in a group, but there is only space for one, Iron Breakers likewise are valued as both a main and off tank and are really fun, from everything I have seen, Order needs tanks. Slayers are a good time but you will need to find a group that will want to play with, so networking is really important if you want to play this class.

Engis are fun but not high-competetive atm.

Witch Hunters are an amazing solo class, and actually has a good spot to the keen eyed competetive premade, BWs need support so I wouldn't suggest one if you don't have a healer friend as their mechanic hurts them, they are howerver the best RDPS for Order. Warrior Priests are great solo and the best healer on Order, they get a spot in the party almost every time. Melee Warrior Priests are a good time too if you want to level or solo, but don't expect a lot of love.
