Lions and Stealth
Lions and Stealth
Are lions and probably squigs meant to see through stealth?? I played a WE on live and can't remember this happening, whereas in T1 the lions pick up stealthed WEs.....and its T1 so i doubt the players are stacking ini talis etc, im just curious is this is a bug, a known thing, broken, or how its meant to be and i have a crappy memory lol

Re: Lions and Stealth
Don't know about WLs, but I play a WH and sometimes SH's pets could follow me while I was entering stealth, uncovering me with a hit soon after
Re: Lions and Stealth
I've noticed that Engineer's and Magi who have their turret/daemon set to agressive will pop you out of stealth with an attack if you go anywhere near them. I imagine it has something to do with turrets/daemons being bolstered up to 15 in T1 and 36 in T2/T3 and them counting as an NPC for stat checks. And considering that your bolstered stats mean very little to NPCs they have a huge advantage in the initiative check over you.
I imagine the same goes for lions and squigs. So if you want to play it safe, just don't go near a pet when you are stealthed, in case it's set to agressive cause it will attack you. Only approach when the owner is mounted (pets are deactivated when mounted).

Re: Lions and Stealth
Its probably the Initiative stat. If you have a high initiative stat you can be seen, as you all probably know. And when you get bolstered, your pet gets it too. I guess, that the pets have a high initiative for t1 and if bolstered it get up to the roof and they can see you. But thats only a guess.

Re: Lions and Stealth
It is not iniative.
Lion will ALWAYS (100%) see through stealth if It was send against WE before it stealthed and is close enough. Same propably goes if stealthed WE pass an agrooed/agrressive Lion nearby. WE have to preety far from Lion (I dont remember correct distance but it is not 10 feet but much more) to lose it. Which is preety much impossible since WE cannot run in stealth and lion is fast and have CC.
Why Squig does not see through stealth. No idea, but I would guess that melee squig should see through stealth and ranged squig is propably usually far enough to lose WH.
Generally if NPC is agressive towards you, you have to be far from it or it will see through your stealth 100% of time. Btw. NPC mobs like guards, etc which are red but are not agrooed by your faction are not aggressive towards you.
If it was diffrent on live then propably NPC behaviour towards stealthed characters was coded diffrently. Here is seems like a simple distance check with 100% detetion if NPC is agrooed/aggressive.
