Re: Terrible framerate
By changing the graphics settings... This is an old game, some newer computers have issues with it. Also, depending where you live, it's just server lag.
Turn off Italicized names, turn down shadows and grass, keep draw distance to maximum(otherwise enemies will pretty much appear ontop of you). I suggest limiting the amount of Text on each players name. IE, removing their Title and Guildname if you don't care about that. Especially in larger battles, it helps.
If you turn everything down/off and it still is crap, then you need to clean up your comp.

Re: Terrible framerate
Unfortunately this thread did not help, i`ve tried it before. I`ll keep the game on my system for a couple of days, really appreciate if someone has any ideas, but if not that will it for me.
Re: Terrible framerate
The game engine used for this game was absolutely awful. All I can advise is experiment with settings in game and in your graphics control panel.
Re: Terrible framerate
Afaik the more Ghz your cpu has, the better. I doubt the game can use all 4 cores of your i5.
Dying is no option.

This is also a factor. Single threaded performance is heavily dependent. "Unparking" cores doesn't show yield performance gain, so I doubt that would be worth doing.
Re: Terrible framerate
Go to Nvidia Control Panel
Turn off threaded optimiziation
Negative LOD BIAS : clamp
Max Pre rendered frames : 2
Ambient Occlusion : performance.
Select maximum performance from your batter and gpu.
THREADED OPTIMIZATION OFF is a must since game is old it messes up when it uses multi cores.make sure u do these setting and clean your system from aspyware and uselesss startup programs. If this help fixes let me know. Also i recomend not to install any new drivers.

Re: Terrible framerate
Maybe some game settings/add-on's make a trouble? Backup your folders War/interface/add-on's and War/user/ and delete them. Also everything inside /cache. How that helps?
Slacking (checking out EvE)
Re: Terrible framerate
Video settings is a good idea. Have you tried right clicking the icon, going into properties, compatibility and running it in a different mode?
THUMP - "MEDIOCRE!!" ...Who's laughing now?
