New Player - Levelling Suggestions

Hi all,

Myself and a friend have just started RoR and are extremely impressed with what the Devs appear to have done with this. Really enjoying the game so far and reached rank 13.

I never really played the original so I just wanted to ask the community what's the fastest way to level up currently? I've never been interested in quests particular and hope the answer lies in PQ/scenarios /RvR somewhere?

After rank 10 levelling seems to have slowed a fair bit and I'm not sure what the XP rewards are for RvR?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

NPC genocide (requires a tank and/or healer, in lower tiers/depending on class)
Havoc farm, lv 10-15+
Mayhem farm, lv 20-25+
Ruin farm, 30-35+
Skaven quests
Epic quests (all tiers)
BC troll champ grind (either leech or last hit)

With a group SCs and ORvR yield the best XP (longterm returns in general; RR, embs/meds/seals for entry gear/pots, learning your/other classes), if you can gurantee wins - which you can, by virtue of pug opposition in lower tiers; you shoild unterstand asap that groupplay>selfish nonsense - and if you play in a populated timeslot (for queues), leveling is no issue whatsoever and can be alot of fun.

Note:
PQ entry levels have been changed (= lowered) last patch, so the above is not necessarily accurate.
Once you got your goodies, stick around for XP ~ chances are that you can socialize with others and form groups for SCs/ORvR/NPC genocide afterwards.
Make sure you pick up on crafting skills to make grinds worth it - you want to get your economy up and running anyways, preferably before you even hit T4.

Just ask in /advice for these things, people will point you towards the PQ that are fancied the most atm, or maybe invite you to BC (its worth sitting there if one is brainafk, people generally don't mind low level players sitting by...)

Thanks for the advice guys. We are playing Warrior priest and Knight of the blazing sun at the moment.

What is meant by NPC Genocide? Just grinding relevant level mobs?

Cheers

I'd do Scenarios at star, they reward insane exp when you are below 10, and grinding mobs yourself is kinda annoying.
Otherwise, unless RvR is really hot at the time, just grind PQs hopefully with a party that has good dps, decent heals and maybe even a tank.
At 12-15 move to T2 PQs, and close to rank 20 move to T3 PQs, then grind them until you reach 28-31 that allows T4 PQ farming.

Honestly I myself only do a few ranks there and there with PQs, otherwise I try to level with PvP or SCs, so that I do not get into T4 without proper gear.
That is, do the last 3-5 levels of T1 with PQs because you start getting really slow exp from rvr kills. And then do the first levels of T3 16-20 with PQs, because doing T3 orvr with just ONE tactic slot is pain in the ass, not to mention despite decent bolster the higher level people will still brutalize you.

At rank 31 you can just do scs and orvr, and maybe get few ranks with doing Ruin PQ farming.

Fixed that for you :D

I stepped into the "big boy" pool last night finally after returning. Same 8-12 players on Order every SC, same **** stomp.

Oh man...nostalgia days indeed haha.

There are a variety of spots with a large bodycount and fast respawns that allow you to... well grind NPCs.
With your setup, KotBS + WP, you can essentially get to T4 within two days of grind if you stick to PQs and these spots (e.g.: T3; destro PQ above "Chaos Ruins", tons of Ogre NPCS to bash - alternatively Badlands; Ch12ish(?), Squig champions in the canyon and the cave in the northeast - to enter the cave and dodge the Hero, just have the KotBS run in first or pull out [not too far, you want to be out of aggro range inside the cave and yet able to rez him from inside] the hero, rush out of aggro range while he dies and rez him afterwards.)

Abbd.: Note: This is if respawnrates and spawns in general have not been changed.
