Potential performance counter issue?

So first thing's first, my error:

As per the sticky, which I prayed would work, the first cmd command failed and the second just did nothing. I hope no response means the command went through, but of course it didn't tell me it worked, and the launcher gave the same error. This is now my second install, doing this one for a friend to join up with me, but I don't know how to get past this even after figuring out how to get it working perfectly on my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since this is a performance counter issue and you claim that you have tried to fix it following the sticky already and it is still a problem, download this version of the launcher and see if it fixes it for you: https://github.com/ThiconZ/Return-of-Re ... r/releases

It removes the need for performance counters along with quite a few other fixes that should resolve any problems you are having. Make sure you download the latest version of it - currently 1.0.0.3. More information on this version of the launcher can be found in the Linux thread.

I'm not going to delete anything out of your quote because, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Downloaded that zip, copied the files, worked instantly! Once again, thank you, all I can say is add me (Entocrat) the Squig Herder Squeenabob. I'll find out what my buddy makes once he gets the surprise I got it working thanks to the community.
