So yesterday evening at a critical moment in Praag, people were shouting to bring in more healers (as usual) and Rift Maguses, having been gangraped countless of times on my SH, I deceided to do a quick switch of characters and brought on my Magus, luckily he was bound in IC so I swiftly paid 5 gold and 80 silver coins and changed the mastery settings to Rift.

Entering Praag I immediately went to MS where order was pushing towards the BO, went down the small steps so I was in eye level with the rabble, pressed the Aegis of orange fire first and Rift secondly, the swirling graphics and then nothing at all happened?

Nothing was pulled, now I tried this a couple of times, and each time it was like fishing in a swimming hall.

Wtf am I doing wrong

The only thing I can think of afterwards is that I didnt actually target anyone in front of me. (is that needed?)

Maybe they all had immunity the time you pulled. Noting unusal for people to have perma pull/kick/root immu. Also Tanks having HTL up so the rest disrupted (dunno if rift can actually be disrupted )

Probably immunities. You can't rift if people have been punted recently.

Tell those silly BOs to stop wasting their aoe punts

Peterthepan answer is right.

As a successful magnet/rift you need buffhead to see who has an active 30sec pull immunity.
Most of the time you see then that your selected target was on an immunity.
