So, does anyone care about PvE?

Is PvE just a means to an end? I feel like PvE centric players (if there's any others like me) are second class citizens  . Will PvE ever be fleshed out? Just wondering because I feel like RvR gets all the attention, and since it's constant re-invention of the wheel, PvE and other areas of the game (that would require relatively little attention) are going sorely neglected. Tertiary T4 areas, I'm looking at you.

I remember moderating another MMORPG (that I'm not proud of) and constantly filling in empty areas with mobs, static decoration, testing and balancing quests, or adding little jump/puzzle challenges, dungeons, or wherever I could while administration and the [paid] programmers worked on all the back end stuff, and it didn't really take much effort (of course I'm not super familiar with gamebryo or the creation engine).

Am I alone in thinking this way? And yes, I get that RvR/PvP is the draw for most players.

Pve was always a side-thingy for WAR and as you said, most people are here for RvR or Scs.

It's only logical that the main attraction of the game, gets worked on first and is more focused.

From my understanding, the devs need full access to the game, client and all that stuff before being able to recreate the dungeons. Might have to do with mob pathing and patrols, boss abilities etc

Yes for many it is a means to an end and something that a large part of the player base don't care for becuase they've been their and some all that on live

But to claim that pve centric players are treated like "second class citizens" and all that is a large mistake and mischaracterization on your part, it that were true the devs would make no attempts to actively fix quests and pq's nor create custom pve quests and stuff for events

So yes, I feel your assessment is quite wrong

Dungeons have been getting some attention lately, not quite there yet. Lots of code still needs to be written, and scripting, and building boss abilities. We do have quite a few people here who are all working on different things.

as wargrim said is more focussed on pvp as it's easier to fix, so if you didn't saw any dungeon thats the reason, also basically all end game content require dungeon thing to be fix so is mandatory fix them anyway. I always liked more war pve in reality to other games so tough it may end to be a second rate thing is usually a good pause from rvr and the alternation make both more actrattive.

While its true that WAR was supposed to have a solid PVE side what we ended up having was a small portion of pve and a bigger and more developed pvp side, hence why i said pve was more of a side thing. This in turn made mmo players think WAR was THE pvp mmo, causing many to migrate from WoW to WAR. My entire guild i was in at the time in WoW migrated to WAR seeking better pvp. Even if somehow mythic would have managed to find the money needed to develop the pve side they probably wouldnt have. The community that enstabilished was all about pvp and most didnt care for pve at all.

What Torq wrote.

It's only when AoR went on life support, with very few development, that the big PVE aspect of the game was pushed aside. Till the bitter end and the last event, Return to Ekrund, Mythic incorporated PVE in everything to keep a mix of PVE and PVP/RvR.

I find it also unfair saying they aren't working on the PVE aspect of the game. Compared to a Year or so ago a lot of PVE has been fixed, Quests in all pairings, PQ's in all pairings, Unlocks, new quests, new sets and so on and so on.

This. PvE isn't just big lairs and dungeons. Having PQs working is great. And Beastlord anyone? Dungeons will return and some players like myself will go after them for the cosmetics or the PvP stats, and others will enjoy them for their content.

The second class citizens thing was a joke, and yeah, I know RvR is the main draw for this game but my point is it would feel less like an alpha and more like a beta (Another joke) if we fleshed out the game a little. Made a little more immersive and complete experience.
