New player here, just hit level 11 on my warrior priest. Really enjoying RoR and really grateful for the hard work the devs and the rest of the staff do. I have some MMO experience but never played WAR before, but I have become a big fan of the Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k settings. Big lore nerd and into Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay as well (2nd edition all the way). Not really sure how renown and specializations work but that's what Google is for! Welcome to RoR! If you really are a die-hard Warhammer fan you will love it.

Regarding renown and specializations: Besides your regular rank (Level of character; max. 40) you Level up a Renown rank in PvP (RvR and SCs). With every renown rank you get 1 renown Point you can spend at a renown Trainer. There you can get some useful skills or boost specific stats (CC immunity for 10sec, more strenght, more crit, etc.)
Maximum Renown Rank currently is 80.

Mastery specialization starts with rank 11. Every rank, up to rank 40, you recieve a mastery Point, which you can spend on three mastery trees. Each supporsts a specific playstyle of the class and allows you to unlock skills and tactics.
