Fellow herders and squig enthusiasts,
I’m new to Warhammer Online, I have never played the game before and my first experience with the game is on this server (RoR).
Being new to the game, I have noticed that it is hard to find information and to get my head around it all as most posts seem to be from experienced players for experienced players.
As I am playing a Squig Herder I thought a good place to start would be to try and get a guide together for this class that would cover everything starting from the basics and then delving into the more advanced.
I’m basically trying to get a Squig Herder thread going that is “newcomer friendly” on which we can work together to try and have everything in one place, so that people that are new to the game or class can read through this thread and learn everything they need to know.
Note: I have noticed that a lot of people use acronyms on this forum, please do not use them in this thread, as this too makes things more complicated for newcomers.
So, keep in mind that this is a very rough draft and that many edits are to come.

1. Basics
a. Squigs
The ability to summon squigs being unique to the Squig Herder, I thought that it would be good to start with this. As you level, you will be able to choose what squig to summon out of a list of four different squigs.
Note: I have found this information on a pretty old looking website, please do jump in would any of the below not be correct or does not apply to this server (RoR).
Normal Squig: Fights in melee and generates more threat than other Squigs – Pick this one for PVE.
Gas Squig: Fights from a distance and increases your armor by 100% - Pick this one for PVE if your squig is not keeping the agro and that you want to be a little more tanky.
Horned Squig: Fights in melee and increases your range by 10%. – Pick this one for PVP if you prefer to stay away from the enemies and want to shoot them from a distance.
Spiked Squig: Fights from a distance and gives you the ability to auto attack while moving, plus gives you an additional +5% crit chance. – Pick this one for PVP if you want to “run and gun” or/and increase your crit chance.
b. Stats
Note: I only have experience playing a distance build so keep this in mind when reading the below. As per my note below, if melee builds are viable feel free to share your breakdown in the same format as I have and I will add it here.
I will breakdown the stats into three tiers, from most important to less important: 1, 2, and 3.
Tier 1: Crucial
Tier 2: Nice-to-have
Tier 3: Useless
Ballistic Skill:
Tier: 1 (most important stat for Squig Herder)
Increases ranged abilities’ damage.
Increases Ranged auto attack damage.
Reduces chance that your ranged attacks will be blocked or evaded.
Wounds:
Tier: 1
Increases max Hit Points.
Toughness:
Tier: 2
Reduces all Damage taken.
Initiative:
Tier: 2
Increases your chance to evade attacks, Alters your chance of being critically hit.
Strength:
Tier: 3 (let me know if melee builds are viable and if this stat is needed for them)
Increases melee abilities’ damage.
Increases melee auto attack Damage.
Reduces chance that your melee attacks will be blocked or parried.
Weapon Skill:
Tier: 3
Increases your chance to Parry attacks, Increases Armor Penetration.
Intelligence:
Tier: 3
Increases magic damage
Reduces chance that your attacks will be disrupted.
Willpower:
Tier: 3
Increases healing.
Increases the chance that you will disrupt a magic attack.
In short, you should prioritize stats as follows: Ballistic Skill -> Wounds -> Toughness -> Initiative.
My next step will be to outline the career and the PVP (Realm VS. Realm – RvR for short) progression paths. I still need to do a little learning and research on this, but would you guys know this will please feel free to add this to the thread below and I’ll implement in the guide.
Please do share any feedback or edit suggestions and I will continue this soon.

Nice guide 
I'd add range crit to crucial tier and move wounds to tier 2, as well as WS from t3 to t2 (with everyone slotting armour talis these days a bit of WS is good to have after you've spent your renown points on crit and DDefender).

Weapon Skill is not useless, its your second Dmg Stat after Balistic.
You mean Wounds are important for Defense, other SHs will spend more into Toughness or Armor.
I run with my spiked Squig for leveling, maximise your dmg.

Bitterstones guy made some calculation and if u cant cap BS u shouldnt touch WS. Physical dmg comes from main stat. WS is like icing on top. Your 2nd dmg stat should be crit, no matter which dps class you are.

BS close to soft cap, so you can cap or close to with pot, enough WS so you are at least looking at around 40% penetration, and crit close to/around 20% ish with crit squig up. That's the way I've gone so far at 40 rank 40 RR, and It seems OK. Need that conq gear for more I guess

addendum: i gave up trying to help other players, most of them call you for being toxic for pointing out their mistakes and do not even attempt to improve when you tell them what to do
