Gear imbalance: Domino effect

Morning,

The disparity of gear possibilities since last patch between destro and order and the obvious curiosity to check out and use lvl 11 gear has led to a massive population imbalance which in turn has enabled destro players to be able to get "of the lover" cloaks much more easily than order players. A few minutes ago I approached the RvR bosses spawn area and there was only 1 order against a destro warband. I just checked and destro is 68% of the RoR population right now, very understandably. The fact is on top of having access to higher level stuff destro also practically controls the new event cloaks flow. Can this chain effect of imbalance issues between factions be somehow fixed? For people like me who are the opposite of bandwagon boys playing my destro chars has lost almost all appeal (every time I got some kill I couldnt stop thinking it was the gear not my skill), and playing my order chars is quite frustrating.

They have been rolling the event since it came up the cloaks should have been apart of the quest.

I just checked a thread in this forum about the possibility of pvp gear vendors and the last post said something about devs putting up a message announcing t2 vendors soon. That would fix the issues at the origin of the imbalance and ensure the conditions of equality and fairness necessary to the good functioning of the game, thus rendering my earlier post happily unnecessary.I can only say that in any case and even before the vendors announcement the devs are doing a great job with the best of intentions and I'm really grateful.

t2 vendor with rank 11-12 gear will be up soon, also rank 11 are 10/20 armor and 2/4 stats better than rr 9, also most dps pices are willpower, also none of use said a crap about order easy way to get cloack so rest in peace.

I humbly thank you for your kind appreciation. As my name suggests, I was a poet before leaving this world for good (or worse).

You can say alot about gear balance in this game. I for one was also worried about the higher lvl gear for dessy being useable, but after I've seen it, Im not that worried anymore... For example for a mdps class, the only useable items are belt, gloves and shoulders. Each piece gives a stat boots of +2 compared to Gale Runner and 10 more armor. So effectively this will be +6 more str and 30 more armor - I dont think that will ruin it for order. Ofc it does give an advantage, but in my oppinion its a minimal advantage :)

Also some classes can have an advantage of using the weapons as well.

And the feeling of 'gear disparity' and the "other" side rolling over you is just as pervasive here on Destruction. There are plenty of hours during the morning and afternoon when Q and I log in that the SCs are so lopsided (she got 3 in a row today that were 3-4 dest to 12+ order) there isn't even time to spawn camp it's over so fast. I got one-shot 3 seperate times today on the lake by a SM, and the Mod we reported to said [paraphrase],"...they know they're not supposed to do that. We've warned them..." and the ability still persists, only you're all to be on your best behavior while rollling over us
When I logged back in after a loooooooooonnnnggg break, there were enough guildies who were online AND interested (it seems farming bloody gear in IC is still path of least resistance) that we were able to start w/2 grps of 4, and began taking on the lake mobs AND order; they put up one hell of a fight for over an hour... which is when we began to see Order numbers dwindle... and our numbers rise inversely with characters names suspiciously similar to a lot of the Order no longer on the battlefield.

90 minutes into it I got a Str cloak for my Mara (the FIRST cloak I've ever "earned" as I'm fortunate to be in a tight-knit, family-type guild where most of us give to those in need what we cannot use when it drops; in turn, those of us w/gifts like that tend to do the same for other trusted mates who need the gear, or want it for lowbies) and got on a sub-par DoK to aid those that helped me get that sweet drop. If not for my guild and the awesome folks in it, my mara wouldn't have anywhere close to type/amount of uncommon gear, and the lady weap (which I've been waiting to use since lvl 11 was hinted at a few weeks ago) that was gifted to me by another selfless guildie who spent multiple hours farming JUST to help gear guildies.

I've given away the decayed chalice, a decayed shield, a BQ SH helm, two staff of the decayed, a sorc lady staff, and literally TONS of uncommon gear, both Gale-Runner's and Bloody (even some Pillager's). I've even passed on Mara gear feeling a bit unworthy of the gifts. But that does two things: insults the giver, and decries the time many invest just to gear their mates. In MMO's there probably isn't a more selfless act.
Then I get on again tonight, bent on helping my mates get cloaks. Order's out in mass numbers...AGAIN... AMs, Engis, BWs IBs, SW, WHs... easily 3 times our numbers. We got slaughtered, relegated to farming Hate while hiding behind a rock...

Offered groups to many, only 2 of which came, both also maras. Q was only healer on field of mdps. Acid bomb + focus on her meant we only killed Hate when Order was on Fear or the pony. And as I write this, I'm looking at Q's screen and there are few Order left, the suspiciously alike Destro names, and more Dest seem to be piling in. All of a sudden there's 3 tanks, 4 heals, only few mdps and rdps. Order's lower pop keeps coming back, but their numbers are fewer and fewer.
The only disparity seems to be in most of us players expecting people who choose to play both sides will do 'the right thing' for 'our' side (those of us who choose to only play Destruction or only play Order), but that's not what they're there for. Path of least resistance is what most MMO'ers choose. When the tide even appears to be turning, they bail for the most organized and populated side. Those who switch to the underdog are few and far between, but more vocal on forums, which tends to skew the view, if you will.

The Domino train for gear sucks. Find folks dedicated to playing only one side. Or, play only one side yourself, if you don't already, and guild w/like-minded folks. Give freely to those who you know only play your side. Guild w/those folks.

BTW, this answer used to piss me off when I'd rant about gear and other similar imbalance issues. I've humbly been found in error through the relationships I've built, and am building with other like-minded people in LoL. There are very few players in any game I've ever played that are as helpful and providing as Legacy of Legends. Joker may be disliked by many for many personal reasons, but he, and leaders like him, foster an atmosphere of mutual trust. There's guilds like that on Order. Ask around.

Good luck, and Good Hunting :!:

If you don't win anything from arguing with someone, do yourself a favor and stop wasting your time for free.
