And as I'm a total noob when it comes to what this game has to offer, I have been mostly doing quests and killing monsters. And also dabbled a little into RvR, which was exiting. I don't want to rush to max, instead try this and that and see the game and the world.
Also, if any guilds want me that would be amazing. Would like to ask dumb questions and maybe participate in some group content without the expectation that I should know what I'm doing. Of course I have no idea how guilds even function in this game, so thats just an assumption.

ok seems like you did a little of rvr (at what lvl?) and no scenarios, and mostly questing/pve.
most people just level through PvP / RvR here, with questing/grinding on the side/while in queue.
(grinding mobs is the fastest way to reach rank 40, but it will leave your renown rank aka pvp rank behind)
this game has PvP available from lvl 1. You can join Scenarios (instanced PvP), from the minimap icon. And RvR, which is the open world pvp where anything goes (mostly zerging, but also some solo/small scale action). Don't forget to join a Warband by pressing L and choosing the right one for your level.
RvR is 1-16 called tier 1 and 16-40 which is tier 4 basically
Scenarios 1-15 t1, 16-31 mid tier, 31-40 tier 4
As a new player I do suggest you to enjoy 1-15 and 16-31 scenarios, which are fun and anyone is competitive aslong as you keep you gear updated (which is veeeeeeeery easy at this lvl).
Scenarios drops Emblems, RvR drops Medallions (recruit/scout/soldier/officer/conqueror).
They are currency you can buy gear with from the vendors. (located in the capital)
Also keep an eye on the Auction House for Talismans (which are player crafted) to fit into your PvP sets. Some are costly, but there are very cheap ones also.

SHINIES (better auction house)
BUFFHEAD (buff / debuff tracking overhead)
If you like support classes, healers like your zealot may be of your liking, but also Tanks.
Tanks in this game are in the middle between a melee dpser and a support character, so u both smash people faces and also help your comrades stay alive.
