Played back in 09 and again in 11, looking to join in

Hello, I was playing Vermintide II and I got nostalgic. I used to play AoR back in college ran a marauder and a chaos sorcerer. I never got into end game content but I always enjoyed the time I spent playing.

Also, I wanted to know what this RoR was all about. Is the game vanilla or how it was at the end? How many people play? Is this a more hardcore server or can I play casually? Are the system requirements the same (I built a PC back in December, got a 1080 in her)?

Reason I ask about system requirements is because I wasn't sure if the different ram or new video card would have an effect.

The game is mostly the same but there are some differences. Server is in alpha state so no real endgame in the sense of campaign exists yet. Playing casually is viable, most play that way I would say, but do join a guild as the game should be played ina group setting.

Regarding requirements they have patched it so it works with 64 ram.

hi.
what is ror about? https://www.returnofreckoning.com/about
We are using the latest release before the official servers closed for the game client, but a custom version of the game server; which has been rebuilt from scratch and still is under development. Thats also why you see the big "alpha phase" sigh beneath the RoR logo at the top of the homepage. Lots of stuff from the original game is missing and/or work in progress.
On top of that, we dont try to rebuilt the live game 100%, but make changes where we think they are needed.

The system requirements are basically the same. The game is from 2008 and should run on a modern toaster as long as it runs windows xp or higher. The only thing that has never been fully supported is onboard graphics that a lot of notebooks use. But here you will have to simply test it yourself. It runs fine on my notebook while others have problems with certain textures.

There also is a New War.exe (https://www.returnofreckoning.com/files/newWARexe.zip) you can download and use. Its better optimized for systems with 4gb ram or more as far as i understand.

The server is pretty active peaking at Europe prime time at around 1100 players at weekends and around 900 at workdays. Sadly our NA community is not as big as it could be, but with the right guild you should be fine.

Thanks for the responses! I'll DL it when I get home. I'll try and get on during the prime times when I can otherwise I'll look for an NA guild. I'll try and bring a few more on board if I can too.

Welcome back.

I'm part of a group of friends who are talking about reforming our old guild, Forsaken. We're NA players that get on mostly in the evenings. Personally, I get on around 9:30 PM EST. Right now, we're trying to get an idea of what we all want to play so we're constantly in T1 getting a feel for the classes. Personally, I'm loving my Zealot (Applejack[My daughter loves MLP, and I'm terrible with names]), but to help out the guys, I'm on my WE (Rainnbowdash). We do mostly RvR and use Discord for chat. If you're interested in joining us, please PM me here or in game. Always willing to help. Take it easy, and welcome back.

Cheers
