Class choice suggestions.

Hello everyone. I'm new to RoR, but played a WP on live for a few months way back when it first came out.

I've been trying out different classes and I'd like some advice from experienced players about which class might be the best fit for me to invest in long term. Currently have a rank 20 KotBS, and I like providing team utility - but I feel like I hit like a wet noodle and that isn't very much fun. I am having fun with a Squig Herder right now, and for a few glorious scenarios on my WP before I moved out of T1 and became the low man on the totem pole.

Basically I tend to be highly aggressive, therefore needing survivability, and I do try to help my team, but I'd like to be able to kill something, or at least hurt something very badly when I need to. Also, the less buttons that need to be pressed the better.

Basically I'm looking for sustained combat survivability, alongside decent damage output. Can a WP pull that off with more ranks?

I'm open to hearing about any and all class suggestions. Thanks in advance.

WP is fairly squishy because of low wound values. You'll feel great against bad players and get killed instantly against good ones. It sounds to me like you want to play a blackguard, swordmaster or black orc. They have a good mixture of offensive and defensive, to the point where they aren't that far behind an actual dps, while still retaining some of that tank survivability.

Unfortunately, you're going to have to cope with being a deftard until at least somewhat high levels, where you'll be able to realise your dps dreams.

What do you think about marauder?

I would probably go twohanded chosen or marauder. My reason for chosen among the tanks is because he deals spirit damage and can reach very high str without losing much survivability. Marauders are the tankiest mdps but are more buttons since you switch between stances often.

My opinion is 2H SM, Chosen or BG. Pure dmg go SM. Debuffer go BG. Tankiest and utility with some dmg go Chosen. However with the "less buttons the better" I would prob go SM or Chosen. Both Mara and BG have alot of buttons.

Sounds like you want a 2h BO.

Not the most difficult class but not the easiest either and rotations and mechanic flow perfectly. Very aggressive kit with versatile bellows helping you survive and deal damage.

Depending on gear you can be very offensive or a bruiser off-tank type. However you gear yourself, your damage will be very helpful in killing targets but don't expect to be able to do everything by yourself, because you're not going to have enough burst to secure every kill. The pure DPS classes will do that, not you.

I suggest you go with full Sentinel set. It's a versatile set that has a bit of everything in it, from utility and mobility to damage and survivability. Plus it has a legendary talisman slot in the ring, so it's even more versatile.
They done stole my character's names. Can't have **** in RoR.

Do you happen to know if balance devs will touch on WP survivability? It's my main class at the moment, but i'm really feeling the squishiness at times, especially experimenting with the melee heal spec.

Not nearly enough when they're melee heal specced it seems. Tankiest healer isn't saying much considering they have a spec that puts them into melee range.
