Pls some1 help

I have posted the problem before but no actual solution was found.When I log in to my acc from the launcher I see the backround with the flags and the camp but soon after this message popps up: CRITICAL ERROR authentication - application will now terminate . The game closes. Ive been having this problem on my new pc (8.1)while I can play just fine in my old laptop. I try repeatedly logging in but after the same thing happens (the pop up) on some random try this appears " Data.myp:
System.Exception: You need to stop application currently using the following file: data.myp

.I looked at previous post and they all say to remove write only from the folder. I go on my screen right click the warhammer folder (both ror launcher and WAR inside) and I remove write only, I press ok. Same trouble again (both pop ups) .But when I right click the folder again it shows that write protect isn't turned off,Not even if I do it many times on a row. Maybe that's the whole issue .I think user Feidam has been having the same problem.If so I would appreciated if he confermed what im saying. Pls guys im desperate. this is as detailed as I could possibly go.If any1 has any hints I would gladly hear em.Thank you.

There's been no definite reason behind the authentication issue, as many different fixes work for some and not others.

Any error message showing that the file is in use by another indicates that another program is accessing it at the same time. I presume you downloaded the game via torrent? Make sure the torrent application is closed, and I would recomend moving the game folder else where.

Once again, make sure read only is disabled, then load the launcher as administrator.

I tried moving it to several locations still it didn't work. .If you find any solutions I would gladly hear em. thank you.

You got full access to folder properties? If it still says that an application is using the data.myp file while you try to load the game, and you've stopped the torrent application running.

Does the read only function keep reverting back to enabled still?


Alternatively, can try getting the game again by a different method. Whether or not that would work, I dunno.

I downloaded game twice - once using torrents and second time from MEGA. Same error.

90%times this do not solve the problme but , have you try to use it in compatible mode ? right click on war.exe , properties, compatibility, use program for compatibility for windows XP.

Oh yea also for both make sure your antivirus dont get in conflit with war.exe
