SCs, need in depth correction

I need some correction as I believe I am suffering from cognitive dissonance, relative lack of fresh experience with the game and probably fell prey to believing that if it works in RVR it must work in SCs right?

I typically play order and try to put together premades on the fly with whoever is online since I don't have a dedicated group yet. I'll trumpet my thoughts on the classes and SC play in general. If you could tell me where I am wrong and point out things I am missing I would appreciate. This would be good for some of the new players to get exposed to this discussion as well. So let's get it started...

I am under the impression that one should always run a 2/2/2 setup and bring both a knight/chosen and a WP/DoK to SCs. Their strong group mechanics being superior and making up for any individual shortcomings or areas the other classes in their categories excel over them in. I'm no longer sure if this is correct, I main knight but don't have much experience with the other tanks. As mentioned, I main Order and don't know as much about Destruction classes, WP still seems like an auto include.

If I get my way and a WP joins then I would also prefer to run a RP given my choice. I tend to shy away from archmages not because they are bad but because I am worried about running into players that want to hurrhurr I'm a dps lol. I can avoid this if I just go with the RP. This is probably not necessary but I also play a RP so I suspect that familiarity with them is probably causing extra bias here.

As far as the second tank slot goes I usually just grab what is available, preferably not another knight but if that is the case we will coordinate to not use the same auras. IB works well with slayer or any duo for that matter it seems. Which dps goes well with the knight? I don't know as much about the swordmaster other than they are more damage oriented. What classes do they pair well with?

As far as dps goes, melee seems to be a little better as the large no man's land that exists in RvR is less existent in SCs due to more dynamic movement and smaller scale.

I played Witch Hunter on live but that was 10 years ago. Nowadays I might take a single one to sneak objective captures? Slayers and White Lions look superior to me as far as straight up fighting. Slayer for AoE as long as you have enough protection for them and white lion for single target carnage.

For ranged dps I try to stay away from shadow warrior if other options are available. Am I wrong in this? The good ones seem exceptional rather than the rule. I've never had a problem inviting BWs and maybe I value them too much from RvR. Two BW would not be a problem, I would only bring 1 engie though, maybe.

Is there an actual question here? Make 2/2/2 groups with double melee and the rest is pretty irrelevant for premade v pug scs. If you care about proper competitive play then do more research or join a decent guild. Theres plenty of information out there if you're willing to coordinate and help yourself

Hello, I'm working on finding a group of people to play with, just in limbo at the moment. You sort of answered my main question with 2/2/2 and double melee. I assume if there was anything blatantly wrong about what I wrote you would have said something.

I guess you could say this is part of my research. I've looked through a few youtube channels and old guides and things but maybe you know of some good ones that I don't? Which ones have you found to be particularly good?

Higher level 6v6 is basically built around time stamping burst damage, along with super-punting both tanks and staggering healers all at the same time.

There are some viable pressure comps, most of which have a DPS dok for the heal debuff uptime.

Range classes can work, but they must be mostly instant casts and melee will get to them at some point.

There are lots of videos out there, you should be able to find the 6v6 tournaments on twitch

Have a incoming healdebuff in group and with melee an armordebuff would be also nice.

2/2/2 with 2 melee dps is probably easiest setup, but nowhere close to mandatory.
