Where do the different currency types come from?

I understand the basic recruit to officer emblems/medallions seem to be based on your level. But what about Conq, Vanq, Oppressor, Invader etc.?

Do those follow the same progression, will I start getting more Vanq medallions when I get to rr 50 for instance?
