Hi Guys,
My Engineer is currently level 24/25 and its got to be said, I'm loving the class.
I feel like I am causing mayhem on the battlefield, with bombs going off everywhere and impressive figures in Scenarios, its very satisfying.
My only problem is survival when I get rushed by Destro, can any of you experienced Engineers please throw me a spanner and help me with some escape techniques.... Or a way of dealing with the situation in another way where I survive.
Maybe I'm just not high enough to have the points to spend yet?
Thank you all very much...

Re: [ENGi] Your Survival techniques
When things get really stick you have 3 CC options
blowing up your turret is an AoE 3 sec KD which will allow you to get enough space to hopefully survive, after that and if they had immunity to KD your last resort is the AoE root you have (or will have).
For dealing with ranged threats you have your land mine, 5 sec stagger. This can be used in place of blowing your turret up on close threats if the situation is such that you can be sure the stagger wont be broken.
Besides that keep someone detaunted thats going to be the biggest threat to you like a sorc, or MSH thats on you is going to be good.
You have a 10 sec snare as well, be sure to use it on melee on you if you are trying to kite out. As well as a decent single taget punt that can be used to create some space between you and a MDPS for a few seconds, or even longer if you snared them before punting.
Lastly make sure you have Officer pots (medallion vendor pots) and crafted pots (very cheap on the AH) they dont share a cd and at level 40 mean you have an extra 3k hp pool to play with.

Thank you Starx this is just the sort of advice I was hoping for, idk about the heal pots, thats a new one on me
Re: [ENGi] Your Survival techniques
Ye, also should be said that kiting plays probably the largest role in your ability to survive if you dont have a guard, and playing outside organized groups.
"A' and "D" keys absolutely need to be bound to strafe left and right, it might feel really weird at first but a few days of this and you wont even notice it anymore. There is a 180 degree casting arc in this game, meaning you can run away from anyone at full speed strafing away from them and still apply any insta cast abilities you have on them.
Pre kiting is just looking at a situation and knowing that in a few seconds that front line is gonna to be on you and moving to a better position, but strafe there still do damage and then setup dont turn around and show your back and waste gcds doing nothing. Say you are in gates of ekrund and mid is losing hard and you are posting up top looking over mid, start moving towards your close point and setup in the doorway. Now when they come up you aren't out of position, you have a doorway to use to LoS ranged, and a new escape route going down ramp towards spawn.
