Battlebrew backpack unavailable in appearance slot.

I have a lvl 5 battlebrew backpack I got a long time ago and I am unable to use it as an appearance item. I can equip the item but not in the appearance tab. I am sufficiently leveled to wear the item. Other people in advice chat have said this is clearly a bug. I have seen many people using theirs as an appearance item yet mine gives me an error that says it is unavailable for use when I try to do so.

I see the thread there that lists it as being due to the age of the item and it also being "fixed". So...
