That's a great and positive opinion. I think most people have an appreciation for the server, even if they don't express it.

However, I'll never consider better patch notes a big ask, especially considering that the staff was -already- doing it until recently.

I consider any patches at all special on a "dead game"

I will put this subject on the table and discuss it with the respective Leads since it'll directly affect developers team and game masters team, one needs to take more time and explain while the other needs to take more time to supervise the expected increase of forum salty posts and investigate those breaching the ToU, receive additional discussions, PMs and ban appeals.

As ToshUtKidUp said, we're spread around the globe and sometimes patch notes can be done around 3:00 AM for me, sometimes Twitch Drops issues occur at 2:00 AM for a developer to even be awake to fix the issue. That's what we mean when we use the volunteers term; We aim to act as professional as we can, we all have that intention, but we're limited by technicalities, language, distance, time zones, etc.

That being said, whenever we refer to the ToU, it's because we already thought of the challenges we might face now and in the future. However, as I said, I'll discuss this with the leads and see how much details can we add - I'm not saying that it'll be agreed on or changed on next patch day, we'll see how discussions go.

If you don't like or agree with the direction or decisions made you can just leave. You are a guest here and this is made very clear. Very strong stance for a community so small.

You obviously don't understand that that games like this need players to thrive. Terrible post. 3/10.

If you're so on the edge about the state of your one class that the removal of one tactic is going to cause you to quit the game, then that's the cost of us being able to make changes. Perfectly acceptable. We know not everyone is going to stick with us through tough changes. That's something we have learned to accept years ago, hence the strong stance. I'm not sure if it's really sinking in, our expectation for this particular change was that people would be frustrated and disappointed. None of this is a real shock, it's just the short term pain so we can hopefully adjust for some long term gain. What we end up doing with the spec is something that discussions on the forums are bearing out, but you've really gotta stop putting us on the chopping block for it. We're not going anywhere.

So I'm interpreting this as "We removed MS as a short-term solution and we have a long-term goal for Knights." If so, thank you. I appreciate that information coming from the staff.

We don't have a roadmap as I've mentioned before, but if changes generate feedback that we take into consideration for the future, then sure. We don't have long-term goals really, balance is a pretty fluid thing that changes frequently enough as it is. There's a few to-do items, but those are larger projects that take a lot of time to get terribly wrong and everyone is going to be mad about anyway. There's no winning here. :)

Like Public Service, your job can be a thankless one. I know that can be real tough at times. I just want to stress that a lot of the community is just trying to understand the change, ignoring the people who have strong emotional reactions to it.

For example, when you guys did the Guard change, it hurt me greatly as 2 of my mains are 2h Tanks. However, I completely agreed with the change and thought it was apt. The MS changes I just don't understand.

This thread got to a pretty nice place which is nice. Really great to see its tabled for discussion.

My 2c are that it’s always better to set the discussion rather than let the playerbase do it, as they’ll interpret the change how they want and then cancerously spread that opinion even if it’s wrong.

You end up having to put out fires in discord and the forums with the reason for the change anyway, may as well just post it with the notes. Of course there is never going to be an easy path when you nerf something.
