So yea, I played DAOC from almost its open until Rise of Atlantis which is where I think the game jumped the shark when you combine that along with the bot issues and most importantly radar cheating, it just wasn't fun anymore.
I tried WH online when it came out but just couldn't get into it, probably because I couldn't get past the Mythic let down they did with DAOC.
But then I heard about this being up and my interest was peaked as RVR was the one bright spot about DAOC, bots and cheating asside.
So now that I gave my mostly useless history what I'm looking for is a class that isn't super gear dependent, which is hard as a noob, and is wanted for RVR while being fun to play not a heal bot.
I'm not even sure how important PvE is for this game as is, and while I read aobut PvPing even at level 2, at least looking at warbands the minimum level is usually 30+ so advice is welcome. 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254

Hello and welcome, picking your main is important. But as you have played Daoc it is not AS important to get your upcoming main perfectly correct. There are not stat points to place on creation here, so when you make a toon you can play it as you like and when you like. You can even chance the name (30days cooldown i think?) and chance appearance if you grow tired of a haircolor or beard etc.
Usually when players ask this question as to what class is better for them, it helps along way when they give a little preview of what archtype they have played in the past. For example if you like a Frostmage in Wow, it would make sence to advice you to play a defensive tank on here
Feel free to drop a few lines of context as to what classes, and what parts of a build you liked in daoc. But more than anything i would maybe just advice you to play a couple of classes you find appealing to level 8 or 10 in Tier1 pvp. That should give you the class defining abilities (tanks get Guard, stealtehrs get Stealth, melee dps get Charge, healers get REss etc)
When you think you have your hands on your new main, spend half an hour on youtube and see if you find some endgame content if your class and maybe it looks like a fun playstyle or maybe not. Or you could just play the class for yourself and see if you like it.
