What exactly is considred a "Magic" in WAR ?

As i was playing today and appling touch of instability to a BW i couldn't help but wonder; what exactly is considered "magic" in war?

We have tons on abilities that deal spirit, corp, and elemental dmg but are am's, bw's and rp's the ownly ones who uses what the game considers as “true spells”?

Yes. Magic dmg is based off the intelligence stat. Magic healing willpower. Other classes might have non physical dmg abilities but they are based off their own main stat and cant be disrupted. Strength or Ballistics.

So by Telen' s definition Swordmaster spirit damage abilities are not to be disrupted? Because it happens ALOT that my Gusting Wind (which I so fondly use :D) gets disrupted, while it should be parried or blocked. Correct me if I am wrong though.

It's slightly different here. Gusting Wind and Wrath of Hoeth are defended against by Parry, but if parried, they will count as if they were Disrupted. The change was only because of how weird it was to have explosions being parried.

@Rebuke I think it should be str-based so you shouldn't be able to disrupt it. It might just be a problem with the combat log though in the same way as it will often say you've parried a ranged attack: http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... f=8&t=4355

Edit: Cross-posted. @Azarael What about any of abilities/tactics/etc that require a disrupt - would they become available if you parried, e.g., Gusting Wind but it's treated as a disrupt by server?

That's a bug then, right? :P Don't know if there are any abilities it affects atm (so might not be important) but it'd matter later on, e.g. with BG's movement speed increase on disrupt - particularly if block triggers it as well.

Ah ok cool, thanks for the explanation! Is Wrath of hoeth a spirit damage based attack? Tooltip says normal damage, same goes for eagle' s flight, Quick Incision, intimidating blow and crushing advance. So far I have noticed that no improved stance abilities have the words " Spirit Damage" in the tooltip. Is this correct or just a slight inconsistency?

Thanks.
