Hello,
Straightforward question:
It seems that the Sorc spell Vision of Torment is able to be disrupted/blocked on the spell's application and on the damage application that happens 5 seconds after. So the spell can be disrupted twice. Is this working as intended?
I read a post on Bugtracker that noted a fix was pending for this.
Word of Pain is working normally, and can only be disrupted upon the spell's application in all the tests I did.
Cheers.

WH can disrupt VoT and WoP after application with Shroud of Magnus. But seems normal to me.

Re: Vision of Torment; working as intended?
The final damage tick of Vision of Torment is being disrupted after it has been applied without any immunities being in place. I tested this.
Abilities with similar effects like Word of Pain and Burn Away Lies do not work like this, and their damage cannot be avoided after the initial application has taken place.
This issue was reported on Github in August of 2020. Supposedly there was a fix pending, suggesting that this is in fact a bug that somehow still persists.
What makes you say this is normal?

BaL dmg can be avoided by cleansing and by absorb. And thanks to Buffhead and mouseover cleanse from Addons like Healgrid and such BaL is mostly useless against any target inside a group with a halfway awake healer.

Re: Vision of Torment; working as intended?
Do I understand you two correctly that you see no issue in an ability being disrupted/parried/blocked/etc. twice?
And if so, do you believe this should apply to all abilities that have a delayed effect?
If not, why do you believe it should be the case for Vision of Torment?

Re: Vision of Torment; working as intended?
I guess its because there is no initial DoT component, so one disrupt test is made for first application, and another for the one damage at the end.
Dunno if its intended bug suit yourself to fill a bug report to check it.

Re: Vision of Torment; working as intended?
Normal that WH can disrupt it, like any other dot spell, by using a 60 sec CD.. YES (it did change both ways in the past, but Shroud of Magnus and Elixir of the Cauldron do not worth a mastery point if you cannot disrupt dots after application).Caduceus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 2:15 pm Do I understand you two correctly that you see no issue in an ability being disrupted/parried/blocked/etc. twice?

Should there be a second disrupt check on any class and any condition, NO this would be an issue
By pointing out the only exception I know, I just wanted to make sure that you did not misinterpret what happened to your spell.

Sounds like a bug/artifact from when every dot tick could be defended against.
