Too big a level difference

There is too big a level difference and because of that you are not awarded with any xp.
What?

Why am I seeing this in t1? And while we are about bolserting and “debolstering” why am I seeing this at all?

I also joined into a Reikland WB (as a little guy) only to plague them with that message.

I can understand “chicken”, because t1 Nordland is hella-fun with a mass of people on both sides and you need some way of shooing players out into the rest of the game, but what is the level difference business?

Its bad enough that level 40’s are invited into t1 events to feast on my leveling efforts like so many corn-chips. But now there is some arcane combination of levels that precludes me from getting xp at all.

If 40’s can be “debolstered” to utterly wreck shop in t1, why can’t I be bolstered to operate in any content. I mean, sure, not WELL, but just the opportunity to get SOME xp and eventually level is at least slightly better than nothing at all.

Why does my presence in an upper WB mean everyone else gets bombarded with complaints that some poor shlub is desperately trying to level and so everyone gets punished.

From my perspective, it looks like RVR is not a good way to level at all, you spend your days getting farmed into oblivion for no xp or you just get flatly denied xp even in the lowest level rvr content available.

And don’t bring me “do scenarios…”, waiting hours for a 30 second beat-down isn’t playing the game, that's getting played BY the game.

Maybe we can put some of this bolstering to work to actually let people level their characters instead of punishing them for showing up.

Build a group, then you don't wait endlessly for sc. This is true for any tier. Solo queue might work, if your side has less players in queue overall.

Play rvr in zones, where your side is outnumbered and you make a lot xp/rp. Overall, don't worry about xp, you get more than enough to quickly leave t1.

Your character won't be bolstered if you're below rank 16 when entering T2 to T4 pvp zones so that would be the problem in Reikland.

If you're seeing that in T1 joining a wb that has 40's in it it's probably something the dev's didn't think about with the event and the game is still reading 40's as 40's grouped with a T1 character.

Ahh, well there needs to be a way to get to 16 then.

Maybe super buff the pve quest rewards, do something.

There should never be a time when a character is getting denied xp especially after showing up and doing the work. It's like hey thanks for being here and managing to stay alive, thanks for risking life and limb navigating an instant death landscape and using skills on that target buuuuuuttt you get nothing, enjoy.

A guildmate (lv11) levelup 3 times during a roaming session in T4. I don't understand why you did have this message and why you didn't get XP/RR.

Also, getting a toon to level 16 is not that hard, and it is hard to believe that you don't know that, seeing the number of posts you have. Make a party, do some SCs and at level 15 do the Sacellum (destro) or Sewers (order) dungeons. After the quests done, you'll be 16/17 with a full set.

Good luck

All I can do is refer to the experience I am having.

You may say its not hard but that doesn’t really change anything that is happening.

I show up for t1 in Nordland and get notifications about how I am going to get no exp. I move over to Ekrund and get told I will get no xp. I sneak into a big boy WB and they all get told they will get no xp while I am there so I have to leave.

There is no RVR that will level me at all. RVR is, it seems, not the best way to level, its not even a good way to level. This guy can’t level at all in it.

I go to Nord and take the repeatable quest to visit the BOs and then just run in a big circle… turn in the quest… take it again… and do it again.

It takes forever but at least I am not getting a message that I am not the right level to get xp.

It seems like development would not want that to be the introductory experience of the game.

Honestly I don't know why anyone would get this message if characters can be bolstered.

Seems like a gap.

Why would you get the message, when you join rvr grp with others rank 1-15?
Even in pve, t4 chars or anyone 16+ gets debolstered in t1 dwarf/orc zone. Never got the msg, while doing event with r40 char, neither did anyone else.

When you play in the correct zone/tier and nobody in your grp or warband is in a different tier killing mobs or players, you shouldn't see those messages.

I believe the general mechanic you're hitting is something that was put in place to prevent people power levelling people through grinding mobs, i.e. invite a rank 1 into a group of r40s killing NPCs and that rank 1 gets a crap tonne of XP as r40 NPCs give more XP.

You went to Reikland too early so no power leveling for you. T2-T4 RVR is for R16 plus. The Devs aren't really a fan of people trying to power level and/or skip content.

The t1 messages are probably one of the bugs with the debolster system (it's not perfect) and should only happen in Ekrund / Mount Bloodhorn. If it happens in Nordland/Norsca RvR too then it might be worth putting it on the bug tracker.
