ORVR Witch Hunter

Hi, so i'm fairly new to the server have a level 20 WH, steadily improving in scenarios, and sometimes can do quite well with heals. Started on ORVR the past couple of days, and well..it feels pretty miserable for a WH.

Any tips, general approaches that people can recommend? It gets boring hanging out at the back, waiting for people to get too far from the zerg etc., when so few people actually do. Beyond that i'm just a quick-dying damage add on the tanks.

I'm not the most knoweldgable player, but I feel like I have a decent grasp of playing a WH (it's all I did on live), ORVR feels disappointing in some ways so far though, i'd like to know if there's something i'm missing. It's not enough to get me to stop (I forgot how much fun this game is overall)..but i'd like to be more effective.

It's hard because of no Knockdown or +50% critical damage yet to make ganks potent.

General stuff right now is use Brute Force + Inquisitors Fury/Jagged Edge, Torment spam into people's back. Remember to use Confess vs Melee+Squig herders, and Silence the Heretic vs Casters. Absolution is the only execution which is viable imo. Sudden Accusation is usually the best option for opening, but Burn armour is also fairly strong. Morales are dependant on your play style.
Edit: Forgot about bullets, I generally roll with Purity for initiative debuff, and switch to Confession if I'm going after a healer.

Ok, sounds like i'm doing everything right tactically then, maybe I just need to be more patient.

it all comes down to your teammates and enemies. when u have tons of ranged classes in wb, u bet you would be focused by every destro out there while your artilery would be just behind the reach of enemy artilery. if u want to play in warband, be sure to be very friendly to healers and tanks.

atm the game is in heavy favor of rdps so you can see almost 3/4 of players online consists of classes that can pew pew from afair. it was mentioned like 10000 times in advice chat. mdps prefers scs where they shine.

pocket guard, pocket healer, hope for more mdps around you so you arent the only target, use detaunt the moment you see you might be focused and dont be shy to gtfo when needed.

Burn the Heretic is not bad at this tier. +200 crits while JE,torments and abso makes the difference

WE/WH most gimp classes in T2 atm, only thing saving them is the fact they have the strongest heal debuffs currently making them nice to have in 6 mans. When level cap is 21 there will be literally no reason to play a WH over SW.

We need our crit damage tactic and mastery finishers to really be in a good spot.

You can still out play people and beat them 1v1 w/ good timing of long cd abilities and RNJesus making sure your high priority/point finishers aren't dodged/blocked/parried and against melee classes we get off 2 or so disarms. There are going to be some classes you just don't have a prayer against, like tank specs or dps shamans, ranged dps in general has a gigantic advantage thanks to terrible back regististation (our only snare) and the fact they can easily get out of range and kite you to death.

Our silence and heal debuff make us quite good against healers while in a premade and we have other dps assisting us. Also I notice that silence isn't stopping detaunt? Is that not a spell?

As has been said mdps very much depend on their team. Thats why its mostly healers and rdps.

When the game settles down a bit and theres more rvr goals lock claiming and grenwon then people will get more organized.

Hmm ok, thanks..this pretty much confirms what I thought. I don't remember ORvR ever being a particularly great place to be a WH, but definitely capped at 20 is somehow worse. Still, fun enough that i'll keep giving it a go.

WH at 40 was the most fun I have ever had in ORvR even solo.

So many awesome tools at your disposal at max level.

I was also on a server on live that had like 2 to 1 Destro to Order, probably had something to do with it:) I do remember small scale stuff as the most fun I had in the game. I vaguely remember really liking the healing bullets once I specced em. Memories are vague but yeah, wasn't that bad by any means. Couldn't have been that bad I suppose if the memories brought me here:)
