Wards on existing lvl 40's

Hi!

I'm a returning player, haven't played since before the unification of currencies, which i think is a great change.

My problem is my lvl 40 characters can't equip the gear they used before the change since they don't have the wards needed. IT seems to unlock the wards for the items i was wearing, e.g. on my RR 41 WE i was wearing anni boots and gloves, and the 2 corresponding officer wards are unlocked, but the items are unequipped and i can't equip them again since i don't have soldier ward unlocked.

Do i really have to farm to unlock all wards from T1 on all characters? I have 8 or 9 level 40's, this would probably mean i will retire several of them since i cba to spend hours farming stuff i have already passed level/rr wise.

It does seem some characters can equip some items. I have a farm chosen that has ruin set, he could equip all that no problem without unlocking anything prior.

Would appreciate some clarification

*Edit: It seems my WE is the only char withough ANY wards unlocked except the 2 pieces (hands and feet annihilator) she wore when i logged her in today (The rest is beastlord, so no wards connected with that). I should have other stuff unlocked as i leveled her through sc's and pvp mostly as far as i can remember.

You didn't get the previous sets? Even if you mix sets, you hardly skip entire tiers of sets. If you have lower sets on bank, re-equip them to get unlocks. If you want to save crests, go for PvE gear to get unlocks.

If you already have a ward unlock you don't need the previous. However if you're unlucky and don't have it, you have to re-equip it. And if it's locked because you don't have previous wards, you gotta get all the previous sets.

Run sacellum dungeon and farm pq sets.
Pretty easy.
