i was in a scenarios as a Warrior Priest 2 hander , then somebody started an argument with me about my class being made to heal and i shouldnt dps , blah blahblah blah ... So , why can't i DPS if the game give me the option to ? IT S like telling a ret paladin (wow) he should be going holy because his class is for healing or prot because his class is for tanking. I am starting to see lot of people runing around and telling other people they are playing their classes wrong because they are dpsing instead of healing or tanking...LISTEN , IF SOMEONE WANT TO 2 HAND BLACK ORC AND GO DPS (right mastery of course) DONT TELL THEM THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG , BECAUSE THE OPTION IS HERE ... IF DEV WANTED BLACK ORC TO TANK ONLY OR WP TO HEAL ONLY THEY SHOULDNT HAVE GIVEN US THE OPTION TO DPS , AND PLZ DONT EVEN START WITH THAT PVE BULLCRAP .

It's because the game is becoming more competitive. That's a good thing. But some specs are not competitive.

The odd specs can still be good if you're creative in how you use them.

1) This is not WoW. Tanks here are basically that: tanks. Can they try DPS? Sure, but NO tank will ever get close to a good, true dps class when it comes down to sustained damage. Not even a BO (although they have awesome burst).

2) I'm willing to bet people told you that because you probably were the only healer in that SC, or at best one of 2 healers. In this case yes; you played your class incorrectly. I bet you miserably lost that SC probably due to lack of healing, or maybe people with like 5% health were jumping up and down in front of you while you didn't even throw them a HoT, letting them die to an engie DoT. Since you have healing skills, in these situations it is best to have a healing set ready and slot some healing tactics. Chances are your group will do much better (and maybe even win!).

3)Black Orc's dps tree is not on the right. It is the left one.

4) Moar caps plz.

5) DPS WP sucks.

LOL , THE FUNNIEST PART IS THAT I WAS HEALING THEM , AND NO , I DO BETTER DAMAGE WITH MY WP DPS THEN MY BLACK ORC DPS SETTINGS , I.E. IF BO ARE ONLY MADE TO TANK AND WP TO HEAL , WHY GIVE THEM DPS OPTIONS ... dps wp doesnt suck at all , i invite any of you to 1 vs 1 me . (and again dont defend this by saying this is a zerg game and blah blah blah blah )

First there are some things u should understand:

As Grulo said - this isnt wow. even loldps tank do not have killing power of mdps (unless obvious gear/skill difference), same as dps heal do not have same killing power of any other dps.

Hybrid specs etc. can actually work though you have to realize its grp based game. every aspect of game is based around working with other players. Sure, u can see let say dps AM in scenario doing impressive damage and scoring killing blows. On the other hand usually just cuz he is pew pew from back while other teammates are being mauled cuz lack of healing. same for dps WPs or even 2h FO tanks that do not guard and go berserk. Every your action affect the others - if you do not heal, your team usually get angry cuz you still have healing abilities, when u do not guard, they get angry too.

Usually its better (as was mentioned) to just wait a few moments and see how your team is doing, if you see they are doing ok and do not require pocket healer (or when there are another healers) you can pretty much run around naked and waving your battlehammer in the air. When u see they could use a heal it might be good to actually think about it. I was angry when I have seen healers dps if they were only healers in sc so atm I usually equip a book and try to heal.

Or you can always play as melee healer - assist other dps, throw hots, use Divine Assault to keep others alive, even with divine fury you "big heal" can save players from sure death. This way you might actually ease their rage, get some /clap, enjoy your class more and do not forget - more teammates alive means higher chance you might avoid being focused and mauled

WP on live was made to be a front line healer who would DPS and provide heals to the front line DPS of course this was only true within tier 1 and 2 and slightly into tier 3 by tier 4 WP itemization was terrible for DPS and you were regulated to heal bot status until late game when you could patch together some DPS gear but even then being a DPS WP was incredibly hard. That said in this version of the game DPS WP is nerfed into the ground completely due to the lack of divine strike

I bet shamies and SHs eat WPs 1v1 all the time. if u ever lose to melee class or tank 1v1 on dps WP you would be doing something horribly wrong (talking bout current t2).

Spammable melee heal was moved from level 6 to 30, making the build pretty bad in terms of group play. You don't have good heals, and you damage isn't comparable to a real DPS... I'm sure you can do well w/ the spec at level 20, but group wise you would probably be doing a lot more if you where healing.

I see a couple DPS doks doing OK w/ guard bots... but haven't seen any successful "DPS" WP.
