[BO] Is it a bad tank?
All I ever see is people talking about 2h BO's. I don't really get the point of playing tanks with 2h weapons, if I'm playing a tank I want to be as tough to kill as possible. Is BO playable as SnB?

Re: [BO] Is it a bad tank?
Yes. 2h tanks are a novelty for small scale fights. BO used to be the worst tank, but thankfully the devs fixed many BO problems. It's always been the Block champion of tanks and has great morale gain if you want get lots of bellows out for mitigation. It's also even better in 2h now than it used to be, due to the redesign of a few tactics. I'm not sure what the complaints are about. Other than it's not easy mode Chosen with no career mechanic... Chosen is the tank with training wheels XD

Re: [BO] Is it a bad tank?
BO is my main, im at rr75 so not hugely experienced but getting there! Been S'n'B pretty much the whole time.
I feel like BO's speciality is NOT DYING! It's quite easy to stack a lot of block, you can even get your parry, dodge and distrupt up quite high too if u want. So, as you are wandering about not getting killed, you can guard ur squishies effectively, keep a snare up on your target, annoy healers for a short time with KD/silence etc.
I have a lot of fun with my BO!
I think the main complaints are still:
1) We don't have a good punt unless we use a tactic. It's annoying having to waste a tactic on a punt, it'd be great to have a useable punt all the time.
2) Our AoE snare/disorient got nerfed. It's still there with the tactic, but now has a 20s CD.
3) Our utility doesn't *feel* as good as the other 2 tanks. Chosen auras are more obvious, and BGs healdebuff feels powerful. But, imo I think our easy ability to perma-snare someone, our KD, disorient, damage debuff, plus well utilitised war bellows are pretty good. Yes, I'd love a decent healdebuff, but u can't have everything!
4) Our 2h setup does suck. In my opinion, all 2hander tanks suck, they lose too much tankiness and don't get enough to compensate, but BO's feels like they get barely anything to compensate. We lose tankiness and some utility, and only really gain marginal damage increase.

Re: [BO] Is it a bad tank?
Thanks for the info guys! I have one more question that might seem heretical but how does the Sword Master compare to the BO as a SnB tank? Or just as a class in general as they're "mirrors"?
Re: [BO] Is it a bad tank?
SM is in a good spot atm i would say. Great 2H dps spec for a tank with potent aoe/single target pressure and shield spec is decent. Less tanky than BO( no wound tactic etc) i guess but overall in a much better spot. Decent at solo roaming and can deal with most classes 1vs1 if you ever want to try this out.Aebel wrote: Fri Aug 23, 2024 2:09 am Thanks for the info guys! It just isn't a good time to play any melee class based on weapon skill( physical damage) atm but if you just want to stack toughness/wounds etc and be a guardbot tank then BO i suppose will work.
Re: [BO] Is it a bad tank?
To me the point of 2h was this, deal a decent amount of damage while being tank enough to survive .I parked my bo at rr87 few years ago after some nerfing to the class but at the time it was fun to play as a 2h for small scale / city and as s/b for wb content.
This is why u go 2h and no i wasnt champion in there,
