So I get an automated email from an old guild forum from from yesterdecade telling me I've been inactive. And I think why not check in on WAR for morbid nostalgia only to find the game had been shut down for over a year and a half. I had a full roster of destro characters at 40 plus the time played on my main was measured in months.
I love how callously the accounts were flushed into oblivion when the plug was pulled. I suppose this is the destiny for online games, perhaps even WoW one day? This is like going to the cemetery to visit your grandparents only to find it's been replaced by condos and no one will tell you what was done with the bodies or the grave markers.
Anyway, I played Laurell (DoK) on the Badlands server circa 2009-2010. I can't remember the server I was on before the big merge, but it was one of the PvP ones.
Well this has been very sobering...
