Is it true that High Elves are just the worst order race to choose?

Firstly I am not talking about mirrors or even “mirrors”. What I am referring to is the answer to the question:

“Why would I want a [High Elf Class] when I could have a [Any Other Empire Race Class]”

It seems every other race has classes that do what the high elf classes do but much better. Good grief the Dwarfs made off with the store on this one. They have the best healers, most damaging tanks, Engineers. Talk about an embarrassment of riches. Humans get the Bright Wizards, the Knights of the Burning Sun oh yeah and Witch Hunters, whatever.

Poor Shadow Warriors, forever in the shadow of the Bright Wizard and never to shine themselves. Sword Masters, such an amazing potential never realized and ever the inferior to Knights.*

Yes, the Archmage comes on strong, but I hear they fall away in T3 and Rune Priests heal just as well and seem tougher without some quiescent leveling period. (citation needed)

I don't know much about White Lions except that they melt like snow in a frying pan. I am assured that higher tiers make some allowance for that in armor or some such.

This is not to say that some PLAYERS have not made these classes seem much better than they are. But that's like saying someone can make a warped ukulele sound amazing. Imagine what he could do with a Fender. Pound for pound, High Elves seem like a poorly realized afterthought tacked on for the sake of completeness.

There is really no point to this but to cry out into the void. The devs have much better things to do than examine the meta within Order and I do not begrudge them that unenviable task. I should really just make some Empire characters and have done with it. I am far too vain and shallow to play dwarfs which is a shame because that's where its at really.

I am so sorry High Elves, you should have been better. You should have been an alternative to the other races.

Sword masters are definatly inferior to IB and KOTBS

White lions could be a great class but they are defiantly inferior to slayers

Arch mages are pretty high skill healers but wps and rps have better mechanics

shadow warriors i think will be stronger here due to lack of high tb and also their more durable than bws so their that




I think the worst part though and the reason that HEs are so bad is that all their armor is fugly

If I remember it right, High Elves were the race to be added, therefore their mechanics were rushed. Elven zones appeared to me as least detailed as well, compared to Empire/Chaos and Dwarfs/Orcs.

Overall I think current Order meta is KOBS (sometimes with IB), Slayer/BW, WP/RP. The rest of the classes can go... to forums or so.

The best duo roaming groups are build of high elves.

AM is the only high elf class that is really good endgame in 6 man meta and compared to its counter parts. It's just the class is more actively skilled compared to RP/WP, higher skill ceiling basically.

Aside from pet AI WL is a fine MDPS

SW is the one class I haven't played so this could be wrong, but I have looked at all their skills and it seems like they suffer from being pigeonholed into a weird spec, and has no crit multiplier or any strong mechanisms to increase their physical damage (hence their pigeon holed spec). And it seems like Mythic wanted them to be self reliant/hard to kill so their damage might of suffered from that, and in this meta dominated by guard defense on DPS classes is negligible.

SM is blown out of the water group utility wise by IB/Knight

WL suffers from what sms suffer from; completely over shadowed by alternatives

pounce is one of the most bs abiltes in the game that an mdps can have but it also has some badly organized tress and stuff as well
