Question regarding Rune of Shielding

Evening all

This is just a question, wondering if anyone can remember back on Live, with regards to the second part of the Rune of Shielding ability. I was just looking through abilities and trees regarding the Rune Priest as I fancied trying out something else. However, while doing so I double checked Rune of Shielding out as I thought I remembered the heal portion of the spell still occurs when the shield has broken and not when it just fades without being destroyed on live.

However, after a bit of testing, the heal portion of the spell will only happen if the spell falls off and is not destroyed by damage. I just wanted to ask the population if anyone remembers on Live if it did the same thing or not as I could swear the heal portion happened regardless of how the shield effect got ended.
