1 week lockout timer on xrealm

Hi,

Simple one this, make the lockout timer for switching sides. Simple fix to all the xrealming that goes on right now and is destroying the game. Either you want to play order or destruction. If you just want easy wins go play another game.

No.
Good players look for aao and switch to the weaker side in order to take advantage of aao and not have trouble finding opponents, and such a change would interfere with that.
The fact that noobs switch to the currently dominant side is their business.

And yet xrealming is a huge issue that often results in 1 side completely dominating, and doing it more and more as time goes on till they finally log off for the night.

A one-week lockout won’t fix the population imbalance at all. I’m not saying cross-realming isn’t an issue sometimes, but a lot of pug players don’t realize how much organized guilds actually try to help balance things.
Instead of punishing players with lockouts, the system should focus more on rewarding good behavior. For example, a token or loyalty system that gives small rewards for logging in on the same faction for consecutive days could encourage stability without feeling restrictive.

For example you can judge pedofile if you catch him, but unless he is not detained, he will do dirty things.

Same with xRealmers - they will always find a way to do, well you know what......

Xrealming isn’t really a thing at all.

It’s just used as a convenient excuse for losing, instead of reflecting on gameplay, leadership, and coordination. The real problem is the mindset on RoR, people giving up too quickly, logging off after a few wipes, or jumping to blame in T4 chat instead of improving, or asking what happened. Maybe put aside their ego and ask for help even.

Just lost a Siege or a Fort?
- Pug Warbands not having 2/2/2 setup?
- None of the warbands used Tank Morale 4 at all?
- There are no MDPS in warbands?
- People didn't push at all on countdown?

Doesn't matter, let's just say "Nice Try, well done!" in chat, and feed the delusion that things are okay.

That’s what causes those AAO shifts you see all the time. There is a large group of players who don't know what to do except stand AFK in front of a siege or just stand in a blob doing nothing - because majority of Warband Leaders on the server are bad and do not do their job of teaching their players what to really do.

Too many warbands only stay active when things are easy, and too few stick it out when there are real fights. Leadership on the server is almost an all-time low. More Warband Leaders and Guild Masters are needed who focus on teaching players, improving, and organizing, not just wearing the title to be the boss and spread terrible advice, terrible excuses and terrible gameplay habits.

If players start focusing on getting better, joining proper groups that are open-minded and learn from mistakes, actually press their buttons, a lot of the so-called “xrealming issue” will magically disappear, because you realize it's not a thing.

The thing that is poisoning RoR for a while now is called COMPLACENCY and the insane level of gaslighting from those who refuse to learn and play the game properly after 10 years. Big respect to the few exception who actually do put in the effort.

As for lockout timers ... sure, it could be tested, but I can tell you what will happen. The Warbands that already dictate the balance will continue to dictate the balance, but this time they will be locked for a whole week and all the people complaining now will be farmed for a whole week because we can't swap to balance.

First of all, this is a free to play game which allows users to have several accounts. So there might be a procentage of the playerbase out there who have one destro account & one order account. I havnt met these people myself, but it could be a thing. So a lockout would not affect these players.

Second, Im actually amost leaning to the point of agreeing something like this should be tested. Not to battle Crossrealming, as I think this is the biggest RoR myth. What most often happens is which ever warband is dictating the oRvR kills/action/pushes might disband and that void is not replaced and momentumshift happends.

For pug hours outside of primetimes, whenever one realm is dominating those players are more likely to stay logged in while new players are logging in on both sides. If the exsisting players stay, while the other losing realm have players more easily logging out being done with their play sessions faster due to not having as much fun. Then you get a T2 numbers imballance. This is not due to people Winnerjoining in masses, its just people playing longer when winning.

In 2025 the guilds are almost all able to play both sides in EU prime, and failing at spreading out evenly. If we move the goalpost of lockout from 90mins to 1week. That might just lead to full weeks of overstacked realms. The issue would then be bigger and could force guilds to communicate and spread out more evenly, but it could aswel just be leading to "dead" weeks as everyone ended up on the same realm.
The solution for EU prime is more communication between warband builders imho and not blindly looking at last 500 kills which could be inflated by a funnel or other factors giving incorrect data.

Ping me when Battleobjectives are becoming meaningful to the oRvR game as an incentive & tool to spread out the players and the action.
