On live, direct damage from aoe had a chance of knocking the WH/WE out of stealth. The percentage chance seemed to be less that 50%, but it occasionally happened.

As far as I can remember, dots never knocked me out of stealth, and I had over 100 days played on WH/WE. A dot like Boiling Blood that acts like direct damage might have worked but I don't remember it ever happening. But I normally cleansed BB before casting stealth if my cleanse was available.

Single-target direct damage always interrupted the stealth cast.

I seem to recall that if a dot landed during the cast it could also cause an interrupt. When playing my BW, I used to spam Ignite to stop WEs from stealthing and it seemed to work. However, I never tested this in controlled conditions so I cannot be sure.

I don't recall whether aoe damage could interrupt the cast. I can remember being prevented from stealthing by chosen/kotbs staggers, but lag made it difficult to judge if the aoe was hitting just before or during the cast time.

Mobs have much higher initiative than most player's toons, so equal level mobs had a pretty good chance of seeing you if you stood in front of them. However, they certainly weren't guaranteed to see the WH/WE and you could definitely run straight through mobs that were a few levels below your toon.

As I now realise that I might have been jumping the gun on my statement ( ), I'll retract it and support this instead :D

Not being destealthed by receiving damage of any kind is already OP and not a common thing in MMOs -except the bad ones-.

Stealthers should be glad of that fact. If you need more of a crutch, maybe this game isn't for you.

Stealth classes are always less useful in big RvR fights. If you didn't realize that going in..I dunno what to say..not every class is good at everything.

If I get owned by a stealth class on my group friendly class/build I just suck it up and move on because there are limitations to everything.

Hey Folks!,
I play as a shadowwarrior and can confirm that the stealth of the witch elfs does not work correctly.
-I begin to cast a spiral arrow (or what they are called)
-WE goes in stealth and gets invisible
-my arrow flies around and hits her while she is invisible
-she gets kicked out of stealth.

I am 100% sure that damaging abilities that have finished casting after the witch elf gets in stealth, would not kick her out of stealth on live servers.
I dont know if its a bug in the code, or lag ,or maybe even both...
but to make stealthing (the progress of going into stealth) more reliable, I would suggest something like a short duration buff (1-2 sec) that begins when you get stealthed and makes 100% sure that you stay invisible and cant get knocked out for this short duration.
I think the live servers even had this mechanic even it was never mentioned.
But right now stealthing is definately broken ( in a bad way)
Everyone saying that its working just fine right now is too blind to see that its not.(sry thats the way it is)

Greetings!

PS: i dont play destro or witch elf so pls dont call me a crying witch elf that is too bad to play....

Yes on live getting hit while trying to stealth would interupt the cast here the casting cannot be interupted it finishes the cast and if anyone hit you during that time it puts stealth on cd without actually stealthing.

Getting hit on live would stop the cast of stealth unless it was like at the very end of the cast then sometimes it would still go off.
